Stephen J Chapman really did an extraordinary job. The topics are excellently organized and the author really takes care of you. Very neat explanations. The book is really unmatchable.For any book, here are too many reviews. Some are contradictory too. I always suggest one to go through few pages in PDF available online. This book is available online. I hope it will do same to you, the way it did to me.

Content of the book is really good.Author has taken an extra step to make it easy for the reader to understand the subject easily.Have other authors book as well and hand down, this is the easiest and detailed one.Go for it!Don't think twice. 😊

This is a very good book. It has some real self-explanatory pictures of machine's windings and other parts of the machine's constitution, discussion about machine's ratings has been done in a lucid manner. Language is pretty good, example numeicals clear the theoretical concepts in a better way. This book contains Droop Characteristics in Synchronous machine chapter, which is rate to be found in machine books. Having said all that, I would like to mention that transformr chapter is not that much rich in content compared to other chapters, almost there is no phasor diagram in the chapter, overall the number of phasor diagrams is very less in the book. This book is must read before going for P S Bimbhra's book.

It's the best book of electric machines.it beats other books like ps bimbhra ,nagrath kothari etc by a big margin.the concepts are very well explained and diagrams are very clear.one will never get bored reading this book,which on the contrary happens while reading books like bimbhra,nagrath etc.you will get addicted to it.

Good book to have for an Engineer....great to understand machines from very basic level

Very crisp and lucid. Diagrams are many and very easy to understand. Explanations are complete.

Literary works of this book is fine but in this edition there are no Appendixes given at the back of the book, all the pages containing appendixes are Missing and the main thing is indication of appendix are given in index with pages numbers denoted with them but pages are not found when you go at the back.Tldr: No Appendixes are given which contains tons of Information

Covered areas in this book is very nicely explained. It's worth to read.
