YOU’RE ONLY OLD ONCE!

I got this as a Christmas gift for my daughter and son-in-law who are in their 50's.

Hilarious! Dr Seuss never fails to deliver on capturing the humor of real life events. Highly recommend!

I have given this as a gift to several people, and it is always well received. Same Seuss characters and rhymes, but about health/medical issues. The last line in the book is the best.

I wasn’t looking for this book when killing time in a book store, it just jumped out at me. I’m so glad I did. I bought it for my 90 year old mom. I had her read it to me. It is such a fun book and we will read it over and over again! I didn’t buy it in the store since it was close to $20! Buy it!

I have never been a great fan of the Dr. Seuss publications; however, because I am now in my senior years I decided to purchase this 52 page hardcover (You’re only old once: a book for obsolete children by Dr. Seuss) book. I found this volume amusing and sometimes funny. It is about an obviously elderly man waiting to be examined by a host of doctors for different things. They give him a bunch of tests and like real life; the doctors give him numerous prescriptions for medicine. The full color illustrations and clever story telling makes this story comes alive. What makes this book amusing is the fact that many elderly people can relate to the experiences shown in this book, from the list of prescriptions for a wide variety of medical issues, to the hospital and doctor bills. Whether you are a Dr. Seuss fan or not, this book is for both children of all ages 5 to 95. I could not help but like this Dr. Seuss book. Rating: 4 Stars. Joseph J. I bought this book for my mom for mother's day this year. My mom has dementia (diagnosed 2 years ago), so I was being very careful to find a gift that she could relate to and enjoy. One of her main symptoms is aphasia (inability to speak or understand speech). With that in mind, getting her a book might seem like a bad idea. However, when I came across Dr. Seuss' "You're Only Old Once!" I immediately knew I'd found exactly what was looking for. While she was initially confused as to what to do with it, mom's reaction to the book was better than I ever could have anticipated. I read the book to her, and she was completely immersed in our activity together. The best part about buying this book was being able to create this memory, that now holds a very special place in my heart. Thank you so much!
