9487 Mars Space Station

Assembly is easy, but set aside around half an hour of being asked , is it done yet? Nice quality build and fun to play with, goes great with the other parts of this set.

Ok, the first one delivered had a significant piece missing (messed up Xmas morning a tad) but Amazon were amazing in getting a replacement sorted. A new one was delivered home in time for us getting back after the hols and we were able to explain it as the efficient working of the else’s to our eldest. Like most of playmobils larger items, it takes a bit of effort (physical and mental) to CRACK everything together but once all constructed it’s a great piece of kit.

Bought for Christmas for great nephew so he hasnt opened it yet but I know by experience that Playmobil products are good value for money. Great nephew still likes to play with Playmobil spaceship, bought in the 80s for other children. Although plastic is frowned on these days, like Lego, if taken care of, the product can last for years and be passed from child to child. Recycled through charity shops if necessary😀. Sturdy, durable. Have some small parts so need to make sure person receiving it is not as the mouthing stage. Also some parts use batteries so needs some maturity or adult help to prepare for play. I also bought a roll of reddish brown model landscape to give the play more of a realistic atmosphere.

Great addition to the space range. Spends hours playing with this and great for imaginative play

Bought this for five year old Grandson who adores Playmobil. He's never had anything space-orientated though. He was mesmerised. It took a while to build, as there are plenty of parts. There is also a tool included for helping snapping on small lugs which would otherwise hurt fingers. I spend about ten minutes trying to fit this tool to the other parts before I realised! It's been his favourite toy of Christmas and he sits playing with the spacesuits and capsules for hours making little games up. I saw some others mention the awkwardness of retro-fitting batteries, but I think this has been addressed now, as the battery capsule just screws off and is very easy. He's going to get the other Playmobil space packs for his birthday. Great purchase.

This is an excellent toy and I got it at the cheapest I’ve seen it so I would say it’s definitely worth it however some places have it up at £70 or around that region and I feel this would be to expensive. The amount of imagninitive play you can have with this is unreal! I’ve enjoyed playing with it with my little boy who’s only 3 but already plays for hours with toys like this and doesn’t destroy it! The noises and lights are great to and really makes it feel so real and we also have the car which is amazing along with more space agents and robots. Now we need the rocket!!!

This is a very interesting and engaging toy for children. It is quite sturdy and we have been moving it from room to room. But even I as an adult struggled at times to put this together - not necessarily because the instructions were unclear. Some pieces were hard to connect and my fingers were hurting by the end of it. So expect to help your children put this one together (and have pinched fingers). Took us about two hours to put together.

We got this for our eight year old space obsessed son. He built it himself, took him several hours in between watching TV and eating snacks! Our son loves building things and wanted to build it himself. He did a much better job with the stickers than I could. The item is a good size, makes sounds and lights up. It comes in its original box inside a plain brown box with the Playmobil logo on it so no need to chose additional Amazon packaging unless you don’t want someone to see the name on the box!

Got the space station and rocket launch for 7 yr grandson. It did take a few hours to assemble each set. I suggest you just open the bags of parts and put into a large tray or boxtop. There is no system to how they bags are sorted. You will waste time looking in various bags for a part. Directions are visual and clear. The plastic in these is high quality, by that I mean it doesn’t snap and break, even if you assemble it wrongly and have to take apart. I have bought several sets and never had a piece missing. I wonder if those who say they are missing a piece just couldn’t locate it! I find putting the decals on straight is greatly aided by using a long forceps to hold the decal. I love Legos, but the advantage to Playmobile is that once you assemble it, for the most part it stays assembled and play can begin without having to rebuild. Highly recommend Playmobile, but recommend you do as much assembly as possible and then carefully pack back into box and gently wrap. That way your child can start playing as soon as box is opened and last big pieces are put together. No way a child could assemble these. Sounds are not loud. Included are all the parts for imaginations to soar- tools, moonrocks, little laptops, portable oxygen generators, even clippers to cut greens in the greenhouse pod. My grandson loves this and also the mountain rescue set he got for Christmas. Now granddaughter wants Novelmore sets!

The package was old and dirty and definitely opened before. I bot this for my son’s birthday present and i dont have time to return! Very very disappointed.

The quality of this toy is superb and it is extremely well designed and made. As a kid, I was never into Playmobil because most of them were medieval knights and pirates at the time, at least in my region. My interest was in space. Now as a parent I came to discover this line. I was astonished. With some experience in the production of plastic items, I recognize the incredible precision with which each piece is made. A lot like Legos (although this is not really to assemble and disassemble), where precision is critical. The design is awesome. They even though of adding a decompression chamber at the door. So, if realism is important and things need to make sense for your kids' space missions, this toy is a sure bet. My 4yr and 6yr loved it and they get busy with it for hours.
