The Little Engine That Could
I agree with the comment about let's be realistic here but I was very pleasantly surprised at the performace. I bolted this on to the front of my trailer so that I could pull stuff up a set of ramps and drag to the front to balance the load.My ramps are long but the grade must be at least 30*. This little beast pulled Bubba the Steam Cleaner right up the ramps and dragged it to the front of the trailer without a noticeable change in pitch or effort. Bubba is ~300# with wheels only on the back and two rubber snubbers on the front. I had to keep the cable held up a bit so Bubba jumped a bit on the ramps. I had some rubber left on the ramps from the scraping and I could care less. Excellent performance. After unloading Bubba, I loaded a BIG engine crane. Rolled it to the back of the trailer, looped the cable around the top and the winch easily pulled it over and dragged it to the front.I can't ask for more than that.BTW, after I loaded Bubba one of my off-road buddies told me that you need to leave the engine running while winching to protect your battery.Amazon, their sale price/free shipping and standing behind their product does it once again!!

Winch slow but works if you do not over load it.
So far so good, I used it to pull a boat out of the water across a road, onto a cradle, maybe 1200 lbs, its pulled onto rollers on a wooden ladder frame, not across sticky ground. Not a huge grade up, but at first its tough up the bank to the roller gear I drop and then remove. I use a Deep Cycle Gel cell from the boat, (120 amp hr) It works fine. I do not double block. Its very slow, but sure, nice thing is I can hang it on a bolt or hitch, remove it from the cradle and store. Only issue, no reverse, and locking unlocking mechanism on the twist wheel where you put on the handle can get jammed, takes the handle and some effort it the nut slips on the handle mount and tightens on the one under against the plastic, second nut holds the handle off the wheel. Cursing and pliers. Check it before use. Get the right spacing and tighten, lock nut perhaps or lubricated washer might help.

This thing works! (See Edit, still working)
I am giving this 5 stars. If you compared it against most mounted winches, it would get a 4 star because of capacity. If you could rate other mounted winches on portability against this one, they would only receive 4 stars. Because of it's portability, the 2000 pound capacity is extremely high for something so compact and light. You have to hand tighten the knob on the side to ensure the clutch is all the way engaged to achieve the full load. You can achieve double the load by running a snatch block like the Champion one here Champion Power Equipment C18003 Winch Snatch Block. I also bought a two pack of 3/4 D-rings Rugged Ridge 11235.04 3/4" Black D-Shackles - Pair, an over axle strap Keeper (04228) 36" x 2" Premium Axle Strap with D-Ring, and a Keeper (02612) 6' x 2" Lift Sling Keeper (02612) 6' x 2" Lift Sling. Total expense WITH this winch was $120 Prime not including the 30 foot strap I already owned. It is just like this one for $18 which Grip 30 ft x 4 in Heavy Duty Tow Strap would bring you up to $138 Prime total. I used this to recover a Subaru Outback already which was way off the road. I had to use the snatch block until I realized that the car was both in gear (manual) with the e-brake set! Once they were released I was able to pull it without the snatch block. I was impressed that I was even able to pull it with the car in gear and e-brake set at all.UPDATE: Year two with this winch. Neighbor got his 1979 International Scout plow pehicle stuck up against a standing fuel sistern. He had chains on the back and cables on the fronts. The plow blade was caught on a railroad tie retaining wall. This was a mess of a recovery a few days after the Super Bowl 2016. It was near the top of an elevated driveway, so there wasn't a lot of room to work. We pulled his GMC up next to it. I figured the only way to get this done was to drag the front sideways first to get the plow blade off of the retaining wall railroad ties. Then drag the rear sideways away from the fuel tank. We couldn't pull it straight back because it was resting against that fuel tank. We used the doubler/block to increase our pull because we new we would need the force. Instead of pulling out the Scout, the GMC was dragged sideways. We used shovels driven through the snow and into the gravel to chock the wheels of the GMC from sliding but it just climbed and then folded the shovels ruining them and slid over anyways. We were working off of his front bumper, so I strapped off the other side of his GMC's bumper to a distant tree to try to stop it from moving anymore. When the strap went tight to the tree the winch dragged that scout sideways through the snow, first the front off the ties and then the rear off the fuel tank. If/When this thing dies, I am going to get another. I think it has already paid for itself with these two recoveries. I keep this winch, my snatch strap, regular heavy straps, D-rings, clevis pin hook, short axle straps, and tree saver short strap all inside of one of these: Rothco Canvas Parachute Cargo Bag . I was watching a car show recently where my wife pointed out the crazy mechanics had one of these mounted to their car trailer for loading/pulling junk cars out of the weeds to turn into great cars.

Over acheiver -Master Lock 2953AT 12-Volt DC Portable Winch
I ordered this winch about 2 months ago and until last week I had no occasion to use it. My son wrecked his 90 Mustang drag rod last week due to a blowout. The car ended up in a bar ditch ( no injuries ) and after 4 wheeling the wreck into position to the rear of the trailer I looked at the L/F wheel with no tire on it and then the steel cross channeled steel ramp. I was skeptical that this Chinese winch would get this car on the trailer. It takes a lot of torque to pull a car up a laddered ramp not to mention that the transmission was dragging the pavement. I tied a 3 inch wide nylon strap to the mounting plate and the other end to a section of the tongue channel, plugged cables into the winch and pushed the switch to start the pull. The Mustang began to creep up the ramp 1 rung at a time with the bare wheel taxing the winch each time it rolled over each rung in the ramp but the winch kept pulling and did not quit. This little winch is impressive and I would not take for it. Today I slid a 350 lb. concrete slab up and over the rail on my 16 foot utility trailer using this winch and a 2x12 plank-no problem. The thing that is incredible I used a jump start power pack to power the winch. There have been some reviews about the pull speed but if I am pulling a ton of rolling weight the last thing I need is speed, the speed is just fine and the amp draw is low for the power it produces. The unit is heavy and the cable is good quality. The wired remote is reasonably heavy duty, the 12 volt power leads could be a little bit longer but that can be resolved easily. This 2000 lb. winch will pull hard but it will not pull a rail car up a mountain side it is a 2000lb winch- HELLO!
