Very nice mouse if you are willing to allow it to grow on you !!
I had a few specifications for a mouse: (1) wireless (2) less straining on hand esp carpel tunnel (3) smooth, responsive and accurate. I also needed something that would not take up too much space on desktop or in the laptop bag which is always very overcrowded. This mouse met all the specifications !! Just got it today. Maneouvering it was difficult in the first few hours - very difficult in fact and I was beginning to doubt my decision. But I had read the reviews on amazon.com and so I persisted. There was a break-in period with the ball... once that happened it moved like fingers on silk. I also made sure that any windows drivers that got auto-installed were uninstalled first. Then I downloaded Trackworks software from kensington site and configured it to meet my requirements. Full speed pointer, full acceleartion and fast (not full speed) scrolling works best for me. I configured 'chording' (clicking both right and left buttons) to refresh browser when I am working with web-based applications; and to 'middle-click' for autoscrolling when I am reading long documents and browsing unending pages. The scroll touch has been cause for many a complaint. But I have gotten used to it pretty fast. No complaints whatsoever. I must warn though that in the beginning, both pointing/navigating the page and scrolling felt very jerky and jumpy. But after a couple of reboots and configuration to suit my needs, it has been working like a charm. Still I would advise buyer to go through the extensive reviews on amazon.com to get a better understanding of the issues some people have faced with the mouse/track ball. My conclusion is that those who complained did not give themselves enough time for it to grow on them. Second, configuration with trackworks is very important. Those drivers are superior to windows default drivers. And last, patience and willingness to risk a new way of working is very important. I was skeptical about this item when I decided to buy it and first handled it. I am loving it now. One star less for absence of additional buttons to configure. Today - back, forward, refresh buttons are imperative in every good high performance mouse. A couple more customisable buttons should have been provided. I got it at a good deal too - Rs.3150. Very happy with it.

Too small to fit your hand comfortably.
I've used various logitech trackballs over the years, ever since the dreaded double click problem with my trusty old logitech (Trackman wireless optical and m570), I figured it was time for experimentation. Using various trackball review sites, I figured I'd give this little mouse a try. I've used for a week now, and am ok with it, but not really satisfied. The biggest problem is fitting in the hand, it's awkward to use, while trying to rest your palm on the device, it's too small, you can't rest your hand, you have to keep it hovered. I would accept the awkward right-click with pinky finger (you get used to it eventually). I would accept the crappy touch scroll ring (random scrolling when you try to rest your finger.) if only it was comfortable to leave my hand on the mouse for hours on end (it isn't). If the body were slightly longer it would work. Anyway if you are looking for wireless + trackball, this isn't good enough. Go for an m570, i would if i could return this, but they won't accept returning opened packages (how else are you supposed to try something?)
