Q: coilWhat is the physical size of the coil? Thanks.

I haven't disassembled mine, but the largest set of pan marks on the cooking surface measure 9-3/4" or 24.77 cm diameter.

Q: Is 165 degrees an optional setting for this?

The simple answer is no. There are 15 temp settings from 100 to 450 degrees in 25 degree increments. You can set 150 or 175 but there is a note, "the settings measure the temperature of the base of your cookware and not the temperature of the food you are cooking."

Q: Is there a way to turn off the beeper?

Each time you change temp settings; up or down; or press the lock button it beeps to remind you; so you will check the status of your readings! I don't have a problem with the beeper! I haven't read how to turn it off, or if it gives instructions; since it is a safety reminder.

Q: Will this work with an Aluminum pot?

No. There must be a magnetic metal in the pan for it to work properly. You can get a metal disc to place between the pan and the induction burner to make it work, but it isn’t as efficient as a magnetic or induction capable pot.
