I came across their book by accident and after reading several passages, I added it to my collection of books. The authors have done an excellent job in putting across the theme of, `...taking full responsibility for everything you do, think, and say. The book doesn't tell you how to live your life. It does provide the reader with instructions on how to achieve a better and happier YOU. According to the authors, "This book contains what [they] call the timeless `ingredients of success.' Just like there's a recipe for your favorite dish, there is a recipe for achievement too." Their book consists of twenty chapters. At the end of every chapter the authors include a "My-to do-List." An example of the list after the first chapter is as follows: 1. The Kids on the Block "Realize that the person in charge of my life is ME. I am accountable for the quality of my life. 2.Search for the facts and look at things as they are, so I can improve them. Then create a new vision by seeing things as I'd like them to be. 3.Eliminate my excuses because (a) no one wants to hear them and (b) all they do is slow me down. 4.Acknowledge that blaming stems from denial and doesn't accomplish anything because no matter how much I blame things outside of myself, blaming won't change me or my circumstances. 5.Realize that I can change anything and everything simply by doing or thinking something different. Understand that it's not what happens to me; it's how I respond that matters. And how I respond is completely up to me. 6.When I ask myself a different question, I will trigger a different response, which will, in turn, create a different outcome. 7.Remember that results don't lie. The easiest and fastest way to find out if something isn't working is to pay attention to the outcome I am currently getting. [based on the equation E + R = O; Event + Response = Outcome] 8.Pay attention to alerts or signals that I get from other people or my intuition. These are often signs that can help me prevent unwanted consequences later on. 9.Keep in mind that I have everything I need to get the results I want." The contents of the book are challenging, fast and easy reading. Best of all, however, once you start reading you don't want to stop, or put the book down. The reader, more often than not, will say, "I never thought of it that way." Or, "That really makes sense." The contents, even though, directed to Teens, can definitely be helpful to adults as well. It is never too late to learn and practice how to take full responsibility of one's life in order to be more successful and happy. As the authors say in one of their many side, and inspiring notes "Surround yourself with the best, and you'll achieve more than the rest." The last chapter's side note states: "Nobody can prevent you from choosing to be exceptional." I strongly recommend, "The Success Principles for Teens" to all Teens having a difficult time in life. To adults, and to the young at heart who feel they have missed something in their lives. "The Success Principles for Teens" is also excellent reading for Social Workers, parents, teachers, school administrators, to the clergy, and in particular, to everyone who wants to improve the quality of life. Review: nothing feels better than "SUCCESS!" - SUCCESS PRINCIPLES FOR TEENS finally is available! Don't let the title limit you. This is a smart choice for people of ALL ages who want to possess the tools to make their lives work and their dreams become reality. The wisdom of the originator of the Chicken Soup for the Soul series, coupled with the enthusiasm and experience of the young, self-made Kent Healy (author with his brother Kyle of Cool Stuff) makes this an energizing read. This book strikes an excellent balance with the Principles, inspiring, teen-friendly true stories, and exercises to get moving toward your own success.

Motivator for children
I know the book says for TEENS, but why wait???? My granddaughter's birthday is in July. Facing 10 and the next grade and struggling somewhat through the end of the last semester, I wanted her to have a view of the 'big picture' that she would be ready to take on the challenge of the critical years to come. This book is about empowerment. Helping a child form their own opinions and allowing them to mature without encumbering them with mixed messages during a difficult time. I have only been working with her a month, but she now understands WHY she WANTS a clean room. She has already developed some of her OWN goals and is even forming ideas about what she would like to be when she grows up. Since the book is written by peers, it gives kids tools and examples in their own language. She has come to understand that class projects are not something to be done casually, but with consideration and forethought. Even MORE important is the sense of SELF she is discovering and, as an amazing side benefit, HAPPINESS. Maybe they should have called this Stop the Mope, Learn to Cope.... I DID read the book WITH her to help her feel more empowered and teamed up with an ally. I also figured this would be the best way to PREPARE ME for the changes she would get from this book. Ready for a re-birth? Make this book a family event and grow together. Update, May 2013: My granddaughter is now almost 15, an honor student and exceptionally bright. Was it this book? I am so proud and impressed by her. Model student, taking College prep even after what I would consider grueling honors classes in Jr High: High school, she pushes herself further but she also plays as hard as she works. Its like planting a garden and seeing the fruit of that garden! WOW....

We love it
I have been reading this book with my daughters, and they really seem to like it. The only complaint I have heard is how the book seems to repeat so many of the things I have told them in the past and how it will make my head mush bigger. All kidding aside, the book offers some direct and honest advice that is easy for anyone to understand. Each chapter is divided into sections with pertinent headings/topic and ends with a to-do check list based on the discussed principle. As a father that wants to see his daughters succeed, i highly recommend buying, reading, and implementing the suggestions of this book.

Make your teen read this!
I read the Success Principles for adults every day. My daughter is very motivated, but sometimes hearing things from me falls on deaf ears (teenagers!). This book is well laid out, with stories and points (to be successful) that are geared for the teen reader. I asked my daughter to read at least two pages every day. I think she is still doing this, and I know that her life will be transformed if she follows the principles. This is a great investment, and I received this book quickly. I am very pleased with this book, and with this purchase.

When you buy this book, don't miss the free online audio & workbook that reinforce the concepts taught in this book. If you do a search on the author & title, you'll find it easily. Together they make a perfect resource to motivate your child to improve their life skills and strive to do their best. Highly recommended for tweens, teens, schooled and home educated families. Young adults would find the tips & real life stories invaluable too. Makes for great family discussion if you follow along with your child. (Warning - it may motivate you to strive higher too!)

The Success Principles for Teens"となっています。書評に変わって、書き送ります。

I have listened to the full audio version of the The Success Principle which was written for adults. I have also bought the printed version of The Success Principle which I am just about to start reading as I have just finished reading the teenager version. I bought this copy (The success principles for teens) to donate to a school but i thought i should read it as well just to get an idea of what it contains. I believe this book is good for teenagers because it teaches the success principles in the kind of language that teenagers can relate to. The book is full of good quotes, motivational phrases and success stories about teenagers and adults. There are relevant cartoons at the right places to put the teenager reader at ease and make the reading enjoyable. The book is more or less an abridge version of The Success Principles which was written for adults.

Super fast delivery and best self help book I have ever bought. ( And I have bought many!) It is very straightforward and my kids can easily identify with the examples given. Very practical and a great resource to set teens off on the right foot. We read it together a bit every night and discuss each chapter read. Time well invested!
