Q: how do you play the game? what are the basic rules? is it fun?

It is a very simple spin and move spaces game. There are a few cards you have to collect along the way that match your character. My son is 4 and loves it. It is very simple and easy.

Q: What does the game board look like? Is it a map?

It is a winding map over 4 different EcoSystems: The Rainforst, The Desert, the Savanna, and the Ocean.

Q: Do you need to get the power discs to win? It seems weird that you have to stop to get the suit and that's all you need to win. once around & done?

You need one power suit from each area and the corresponding disc and then to get back to Tortuga to win.

Q: $40 for a board game?

I got it cheaper on here years back. It’s not work $40. It’s a cute, normal type board game. Worth about $10.
