This little kit comes with everything you need to make art out of scrap wood (or non-scrap wood, but it's cool that you can make scraps into something useful). You essentially are able to use the heated "pen" to "draw" in the wood with a WIDE VARIETY of tips. You can make moons, dots, lines, and so many different little patterns. Plus, it comes with knife tips to help you get more precise with whatever image you create in the wood, if you so please.For everything this comes with, and how easy it is to use, the price is definitely right, too! You literally just have to choose a tip, screw it on, plug the pen in, switch it on, and you're ready to go.The kit comes with a little kickstand to rest the "pen" on when you're not using it, which is super simply made but just what it needs. According to the directions, you are supposed to wait 2 minutes to let the pen cool before you change out the tip, but if you use a wrench to unscrew it, and don't touch the tip in any way with your hand, you can just switch it out right away. Your call though.You also have two heat settings, which means you can use the pen in different densities of wood. You do have to wait for the tip to fully heat up for it to be easy to move the tip through the wood, but on the higher setting, I can't imagine there would be any kind of wood you wanted to burn into that you couldn't.The kit literally even comes with rhinestones and studs too. They thought of everything. It's seriously like the coolest little art kit made even cooler by the fact that you're carving/burning images into wood. I am going to have some serious fun with this.I would recommend this for a beginner or an artist to use for just random drawing and entertainment, or even like a mindfulness tool for de-stressing. You could also use it to make a personalized gift for someone that would be really special.I just think it's a cool random tool to buy and look forward to all the new uses I can discover and images I can create. I recommend it. It's simply made and not that heavy duty, but it doesn't need to be. I say go for it!

Nice burning set

My fiancé and I bought this kit to do some DIY crafts for our wedding and we couldn’t be happier! The kit comes with tons of tips and stamps to customize whatever you want to design. We will be making customized favors for all our wedding guests. The kit is lightweight and great quality, the iron gets hot really quickly and has two different settings (15W and 30W) and provides a consisten heat throughout use. Once you get used to it, it works like a dream! We would both recommend it and are super excited to get to work on our wedding favors!

My wife and I are artists and have been wanting to make those wood signs you see at your local fair for quite some time now, they are great for presents for friends and family, and this kit is fantastic for it, it has everything we need from the basic beginner art to the fancy more professional stuff.Several attachments make it very easy to engrave, burn, images and letters into the wood even the finest details is no problemWe both love it and has been busy making all our xmass gifts for this year lol.. playing with it all day. It's the best money we have ever spent… the quality of this kit is fantastic and have no problem recommending it … if you want a great woodburning kit this is it…At this stage, we will have so many we will be selling them at the craft fair also :-)

Nice kit but wish it came with directions on the different uses of the tips

I only used this pen for a total of 15 minutes. The pen got so hot it melted and bent the tip. Don’t waste your money. I had to return for a refund. I will buy a better quality one next time! Buyers beware!

This wood burning kit is perfect! I’ve been using this for my projects lately and I was overjoyed with the quality of this tool and how easy it is to use. It has dual temperature controller so I can easily adjust the temp for the surface I’m working on. So far I have worked with basswood, oak, pine and leather all with great success. Very wide variety of tips in this kit so the possibilities are endless. For anyone planning to purchase this kit I hope you get as much satisfaction from it as I have.

This was advertised as a professional tool, but it's a far cry from that. The tips actually bend out of shape when you use the tool for any long amounts of time. I also wish that the handle felt more comfortable in my hand, but it's no better or worse than any other burning tool. It's ok, but just ok.
