Q: Does it make any noise when it rotates?

No never heard a squeak nice and smooth when I turn it round stays where it is while watching tv very happy with rotating table For tv stand put it on a shelf as tv legs are wide apart so still no problems still quiet

Q: Is it glass as mentioned

I wouldnt say its made of glass, very strong plastic, i use mine with my A4 Gemini cutting and embossing machine which weights about 5kg and it spins really well.

Q: Any good as a cake decorating turntable?

Don’t see why not. You’d probably have to raise it up though. Seems like overkill unless your cakes are as heavy as mine! Why not buy a (cheaper) cake decorating turntable?
