Q: Does this come with a converter?

I just received mine today and it did not. I was surprised and was checking back here to see if it said if it came with the pen or not. Although the pen is awesome, for this price it should come with a converter

Q: From the reviews, it sounds like many of these are counterfeit. how do i ensure i’m getting a genuine waterman made in france?

It sounds. I had the same misgivings but when I did buy it. It was a genuine waterman. On the nib, it should have the W sign then Waterman and underneath it should have Paris then an F or M for the nib size. On the cap it should have Waterman Paris and France. Perhaps there are counterfeit ones being sold but I’m quite sure that the one I bought is the genuine Waterman. Also the nib quality is excellent. It should be very butter smooth even for a fine point as fine steel nibs are hard and scratchy.

Q: Does it come with an ink converter?

No it does not, unless you order them together. Which you can if you look down the page at the "frequently purchased together" options
