I don't know the answer to that question. I researched if lead in curry powder is a problem and did not find any info about that. I've used Sun Brand Curry Powder for 30 years. Good luck.

Q: How long before it expires?

I purchased my one pound can in October, 2018. The expiration on the can is 2/2021; however if you go beyond that you can always brighten it up in a hot pan for 45-60 seconds.
