You probably could but I would get something specifically for corn

ALWAYS CHECK THE LEVEL OF WHAT EACH PLANT CAN TOLERATE BEFORE USING A FERTILIZER. African Violets can tolerate 20/20/20, but for the best results of getting them to flower use 12/36/14 (African Violet fertilizers), the high phosphorus encourages flowering. AND NEVER POUR DIRECTLY ONTO THE LEAVES, just directly into the soil only, as it may cause "burning".

Q: What's the difference between this and Miracle grow other than cost?

2 COMPLETELY different products with only the color being the same. Miracle Gro NPK is 24-8-16 Peter’s Professional NPK is 20-20-20

Q: Can you water the plant directly with this or do you water just the dirt at the base of the plant ?

We folia feed our orchids with this all the time. We spray the entire plant but try to avoid blooms. We grow orchids. I would suggest you spray in the early morning so the spray would have time to dry or be absorbed before the heat of the day.
