The short version: Don’t be deceived by its small appearance! The Venum Challenger Mouthguard marked adult/11+ IS THE CORRECT SIZE! The longer version: Initially I also thought I got the wrong size, and started a return ticket. After googling it I found a very helpful comment on the .com Amazon site. This is what Venum US wrote to me: “We only have 2 sizes for the mouthguards. The one you got is for adults. The other size is for kids which is for 10 and below. And yes, our mouthguards are small compared to the usual size. They are built that way, designed to be more breathable.” Using the instructions that came with the Venum mouthguard, and the tips from Tiffany’s post (to not bite too firmly), it fits perfectly. Conclusion: Despite the size looks completely off on first appearance, as long as the box says “Adult” and/or “11+” the mouthguard IS THE CORRECT SIZE - I.e. suitable for Adults and children near or in their teens. The Venum Challenger IS DESIGNED TO BE SMALLER than standard mouthguards to FACILITATE BREATHING, in addition to its shock absorbing functionality. More oxygen - better performance.
