Our powder is very fine so your vacuum should have no problem extracting it from your shag rug. Also, because the product is all-natural, there is no risk if any remains :)

Hi, thank you for your question. Yes, it should get the smell of dog urine out. Please note, you may want to leave the deodorizer on the surface for a longer period of time. You may also want to apply the deodorizer and vacuum it up more than once if the smell persists after the first application.
