No, the muzzle will prevent the dog from panting or being able to drink. My dog is able to stick her tongue out slightly and lick my hand - we only use it during post-surgery physical therapy since she doesn’t like people bothering her sore leg. I wouldn’t recommend using this for long, maybe 20-30 minutes at the most.

There's a variety of sizes. I have both a puggle and a boxer/lab mix and this set had a muzzle that fit each and restricted my dogs from eating rabbit turds..

Q: Reviewers say that dogs can still eat with this muzzle on. Does that mean that they can still chew & destroy things, too?

My dog could not (with the appropriate size muzzle on). He can get his tongue out to lick, maybe get a little water, but not much else.
