Yes, you could used on an American switch.

Q: can i use Real Wood Drumsticks (for regular drums) on this controller?

Yes. In fact I would recommend it. The drums it comes with is okay, but with real taiko (or normal drum sticks), you can play more with your wrists instead of your arms. These drums can take beating. I've been using real sticks for a long time and it works just fine with no damage.

Q: Are the drumsticks made of wood or plastic?

They are made of plastic. They're not as fun as the arcade ones, but work for this controller. You don't *have* to use the sticks to use the controller (the controller still works if you use other drumsticks)

Q: Does this game have English subtitles?

I downloaded this game in the Nintendo eShop. The game is in English, although the voices are still in Japanese. This drum does not come with a copy of the game. It's the drum/controller only.
