Shamanic avant-jazz bandleader Sun Ra stars in this showcase for both his music and philosophical concerns. He arrives from Outer Space in Oakland to take a group of black youths back to his planet, where he intends to convert them to his own unique brand of Black Power politics. Whilst earthbound, he manages to find time to perform some of his most famous songs with his band, the Intergalactic Arkestra.
