This giant jar of SKIPPY Creamy Peanut Butter is an absolute necessity for our kitchen! As a family of 5, we go through one of these every month, so the massive 80 oz. size is a huge win for us. Incredible Value: Buying it in this large tub is the most economical way to keep our pantry stocked. It saves us trips to the store! Family Favorite: You can't beat the classic, perfectly creamy texture and great taste of SKIPPY. It's the only brand everyone in our house agrees on for sandwiches, baking, and snacks. Nutrition Bonus: It's nice to know we are getting 7g of protein per serving, making it a great, quick source of energy for the kids (and adults!). Convenience: The big jar is perfect for scooping for recipes or quick toasts. It stays fresh right down to the last spoonful. Highly Recommended: If you have a busy, peanut butter-loving household, skip the small jars and get this large size. It's the most convenient and cost-effective way to buy it!

This is the only peanut butter I have been buying for the past year and will continue to buy it even though it is the second best. Why? Well there is many reasons. Let’s start back when the salmonella outbreak hit Jif. I had been buying up two 4lb tubs of jif a month, plus keeping 3 to 4 of those big tubs in my pantry. Now if you have seen the price of how much jif costs, then you know that’s around a hundred dollars worth of jif on hand at all times. Spending 20 to 30 a month on it. Sooo, they have the salmonella outbreak and I go to check all the codes on my containers and they were all coded with the (may be contaminated) disclaimer online. Well, ok. That didn’t sound so bad when i didn’t catch salmonella and I heard that jif was doing the money back coupons on their online site so we could be reimbursed for what we had to throw out, we just had to send them our info and coding for the jars. Cool, I thought. Well, I did everything they asked. A month gos by, two months, 6 months, it’s been over a year now and never received any reimbursement coupons for almost a hundred dollars worth of peanut butter I had to toss in the dumpster. Now, if that wasn’t enough, jif at that time was almost impossible to get your hands on for months, and if you could find it online, it was being sold for like 50 dollars for a small jar because of its shortage, and everybody was jumping on the fact that people wanted it so they just kept raising the cost. After a few months went by, I decided to try out many other brands of peanut butter. Came across Skippy, which I hadn’t had since I was a kid. It wound up being the closest taste, texture, and thickness to jif I could find. It isn’t as sweet as jif but it’s close. It has more of a salty flavor, but not in a bad way. Just different. It’s a good peanut butter. Easily the second best. No it’s not jif, but it’s working out just fine for me. And to top it all off, even at Jifs lowest price, skippy is half the cost for a larger tub. Skippy 5 pound tub is half the price of jifs 4 pound tub. Listen, the salmonella issue isn’t what turned me. That could be an accident in the factory, however, when you ignore your customers and refuse to reimburse them after they said they would. That’s no accident. That’s just them throwing dirt in your wound. As for me, I’m still going through the same amount of peanut butter. But it is way cheaper and comes with a tag that says Skippy. So would I suggest this skippy to others? Definitely. I would suggest they only buy skippy and walk away from companies like jif that serves nobody but themselves. I’m happy with skippy. I know it isn’t as good as jif, but they don’t deserve my time or money anymore. I’m just fine spending all my money on skippy now. And you should be too. I’m giving skippy a 5 star rating for being my only peanut butter brand for the past year with no issues at all. I hope this review helps out in some type of way. Maybe you are also looking for a new peanut butter like I was. Look no further. This skippy is what you should be buying up. It’s more than worth the price. Thanks for taking the time out and reading this.
