The Lexar E750 is a premium NVMe enclosure with a solid metal build and a unique cloth-textured lid that feels great in hand. It supports USB 4 and is backward compatible with USB 3.2, 3.1, 3.0, and 2.0, so it works with just about everything. It’s fanless, so it runs silently, and Lexar clearly put thought into cooling. It includes three silicone thermal pads (2x 1mm, 1x 0.5mm) to help with heat dissipation—for both the NVMe and the internal chipset. That said, I do wonder how the chipset is cooled—is it making contact with the metal case? I wish I had a second unit to fully disassemble and find out. Toolless access is a great touch, though a bit tricky to open if you have short fingernails. The included soft case is nice, and overall the enclosure feels very high-end. I’m a little unsure how long the cloth-textured surface will hold up at the edges, but time will tell. I didn’t have a Lexar NVMe to test performance, but from design alone, this enclosure is impressive and well thought out.

I purchased this enclosure to compliment my Macbook Air M4, paired it with the Samsung 990 EVO Plus SSD 2TB. Previously I have the ORICO 40Gbps version (last picture), and it was ok. It disconnects from time to time, and it runs very hot. Plus, it looks pretty cheap in clear plastic. I got the Lexar enclosure, also 40Gbps, and it looks classy. Fabric top, ease to install the SSD, If anything, it was too easy to open up the top compartment - it would've been goo do have the option of screwing it down. And it's fast! In fact, it's just as fast as as the M4 Air's (see benchmark)! Overall I would highly recommend this enclosure even over pre-made ones like the Sandisk. It's less expensive, more flexible, and even performs better.

I misplaced a part for my previous USB4 SSD Enclosure and decided to purchase this item that I didn’t expect to exist. It arrived quickly and setup was an absolute breeze once I realized how to open it (there’s a lip on the bottom edge of the fabric wrapped cover that you just lift straight up) Pros: It’s fast easily reaching advertised speeds with my WD Black 8TB PCIE Gen 4 NVME drive of 3500MBps+ read writes. It’s stable so far, although haven’t used it much yet. The form factor is nice and thin. Heat dissipates well even with the silicon case on the back. It is mostly metal with some nice fabric accents. It accommodates all of the NVME M.2 SSD sizes even all the way up to an 8TB 2280. It even included extra parts that I lost for my previous enclosure bringing new life to it as well. Cons: It’s a little bit heavy but given the materials it doesn’t bother me much. The “leather” loop may break easier than a solid designed loop. No real track record with a product like this from Lexar yet but they do have a good track record with their other storage products so hopefully this one is safe and fine too. Can’t really tell if it has a built in capacitor to more safely handle sudden usb disconnects. Overall initial impressions are quite great and as long as it lasts a long time like I hope it will I’m sure this will be one of my top recommendations for this category.

First off the most interesting part about this product is the heat dissipation. Compared to other product that I have used this does a great job at dispersing the heat. Using a product like this will always get hot but Lexar did a nice job at keeping it warm. Installation was super easy and the build quality is fantastic. I was able to use my four terabytes SSD for storage capacity. The negative is that it does Weight more than a regular non Thunderbolt enclosures.

I like the speed, but it gets way too hot
