Q: I was expecting the top of the container - under the lid - to be sealed. but i just open it and the powder is there. no seal. is this normal?

This is normal...the lid is taped to the jar on the outside with clear tape..that is all.

Q: Is this in powder form or pellets? Is it tasty to them?

Powder form---I just sprinkle it on my gelding's feed and he eats it with his grain. Smells find of sweet/fruity to me.
