No, it is full length, you would have to custom mount it or modify the metal mounting bracket. Neither option would be trivial.

Hello! I got mine less than a month ago and it's working perfectly. It's a 3 pin connection with a 4 pin header (one of them is just not connected, and doesn't have a pin on the motherboard). What I would suggest you do is read your motherboard's manual, and find if it mentions SPDIF anywhere. The 3 pins should be GND, Data, 5v (not necessarily in that order). I can look it up for you, if you provide your exact Motherboard model.

Q: where can I buy this 3 pin connector?

Apart of this bracket kit you don't need nothing more. Just check your motherboard documentation to make sure where on the board is the location of the S/PDIF pinout, connect the cable to the pinout and the other end of the cable to the bracket. Check the cable which carries the +5V. The other two cables carry GND (black) and the signal (brown).
