Q: Is there any aspirin in these?

Contains salicylate. Don’t take if allergic to aspirin.

Q: getting the tablet out of the wrapper seems ridiculously difficult, requiring a scissor... Or am I missing a place to tear?

My package has a printed "tear here" with an arrow on each wrapper. It is easy to miss. The arrow points to a pre-cut snip. These tablets work very well and are much less expensive than the name brand. People sure seem to look for silly thinks to whine about.

There is no indication on the box where it is made. Maybe check with the seller.
