Q: does this need to be heated or can I use it right out of the bottle?

Yes, I guess you could use it as a dressing right out of the bottle the first time after opening but after refrigeration I would think the fats and oils wouldn't be a desirable consistency unless heated. I use this heated with a little sugar added to mix and make a spinach salad. I can't find the Marzetti Bacon Dressing anymore. This is the next best thing. Hope this helps.

Q: How do I get a replacement for an item damaged in shipping?

I am wondering this myself, since Amazon says that this item is not returnable, and I received it with one of the two jars broken.
