Hi It's not difficult but takes time and it helps, but is not essential, if you have help you can call on from time to time. Pull the beading out of the rails (you will need new beading and be careful, there are two widths, and at least two colours, and the one you take off will be squashed, flatten a bit to measure), then remove the rails. These are usually in two halves joining in the middle. Take the screw midway between the joint and the end of the caravan out last. This job is easy if the screws are stainless steel, if not you may have to drill the stuck ones out. You need to lay the rails flat and this is where help is useful, I laid them on a series of tables so I could work standing up. You need to remove all trace of the old seal with a scraper and petrol/white-spirit, and ditto off the caravan; you can use a metal blade on the rails, but use plastic on the caravan. Drill and countersink new holes, I marked all the old ones with a felt tip so I could tell which was which. The big problem is that I found it hard to get the right screws, they have very small heads and if the heads on the screws you use are top big the bead will bulge out. Stick the seal to the rail and remove the backing tape. It is VERY sticky, once on you cannot get it off, so be careful, get it so that it overlaps both sides of the rail. Then carefully put the rail in place, this is the only difficult bit as you must get it right first time, you cannot pull it off if you make a mistake (what you can do after removing the backing tape when you find you have got it wrong is cut a strip off with scissors where you didn't want it and stick it where you want it, it will join up). I put the first screw in where I took the last screw out so it sort of hung, but I did the job on my own. Then fix it with about 5 screws before fixing it in every screw-hole. I put screws in both the new holes and the old ones in the end, but I made sure the ones in the new holes were tight, the others I put in to block the old holes up. When you've done this you need to remove the excess sealant. I used a plastic knife (a lot of them) to cut along the edge, and then a plastic scraper to remove the sealant from the caravan. It took a long time. Then you just put the new bead in, start at one end and work along, you put the bottom into the aluminium, then lever the top in, sometimes your fingers will do, other times I used various blunt blades, paint scrapers were best. I then ran Captain Tolley's creeping gap seal along every single rail, window, vent etc, excellent stuff, to make sure.

Has anyone tried to go round bends with this product as I’m doing the awning rail and not sure if it’s only for the straights

Its fine to go around bends. When you screw the awning rail back on, make sure you drill pilot holes through the mastic otherwise it gathers around the screw when you tighten it.
