I was looking for good quality at a reasonable price, and this one is quite affordable. While it is not professional studio gear, it is a dynamic microphone perfectly designed for use in untreated acoustic environments, as it has excellent background noise suppression (a noise gate). I have achieved professional-quality recordings that rival other more expensive brands. I currently own more costly microphones but don't have acoustic treatment for them, which was a huge hassle. This microphone has solved that problem perfectly. Strengths (Pros) Audio Quality: Excellent for its price range, ideal for podcasts, streaming, and voice-overs. Design for Untreated Spaces: Its dynamic pattern minimizes room noise, furniture sounds, and echoes. Build Quality: Constructed with solid metallic materials. It feels premium and durable. Controls: The buttons have a nice feel and work very well. The Only Disappointment (Cons) Accessories: This version DOES NOT include a desk stand or boom arm. You have to buy it separately, which increases the final cost (although I didn't want to spend more on the full kit). USB Cable: The included USB Type-C cable is a little short. Helpful Tip: About the USB-C Cable I suggested to the manufacturer that they include a longer cable and also took the opportunity to ask if the included cable could be replaced with a commercially available one. This was their response: "In response to your question, yes, you can replace the included USB cable with any high-quality USB-C cable that supports data transfer (not just charging). Using a good quality cable will ensure stable performance and prevent any impact on sound quality." One final detail is that it can be used in the traditional way with an XLR cable in analog mode, or with USB-C. It includes software compatible with the latter mode and some presets. Conclusion If you want to start creating content, have a small budget, and, most importantly, do not have acoustic treatment in your recording space, this is a great start and an excellent investment. I got the MAONO PD300X mainly to talk with friends and play games, and it has been a big upgrade compared to regular headsets. My voice sounds crystal clear to others, with a fuller and more natural tone, and background noise is almost gone thanks to the noise reduction. The mic is easy to set up with USB, but it also has XLR if you ever want to use it with more advanced gear. The gain knob and mute button are super handy while gaming, and the monitoring option lets me hear myself so I know the sound is good before jumping into a call. The build feels sturdy and professional, even though I’m using it casually. For the price, it’s honestly impressive how good it sounds. If you want a microphone that makes you stand out in voice chat or while streaming, this is a fantastic choice.

I got the microphone last week & tested it on my laptop. The Maono PD300X looks like exactly like the microphone from an different company. But, it's mostly metal & I love that! The microphone is heavy & having an weak boom arm is a bad idea. Therefore, the mic will last for more than five years. It's all black & professional. The only thing it's plastic is the volume knob & less click than Maono PD200x. It has the software app & works like an charm. But, it'll take some time to get use to it. On USB mode, the software app has four EQ settings: podcast, live streaming, recording & gaming. I tried out the recording & sounds really good. In fact, it sounds like an expensive microphone. As for XLR mode, it sounds in between not too much bass & not too thin. In fact, I got Scarlett Vocaster One audio interface & it works with the microphone perfectly. One more thing, it has versatility in connectivity (USB/XLR). I'm not an audio engineer at all, just an average guy who loves microphones & want to grow with Maono PD300X. If you want an microphone that won't drain your wallet, last an long time, has options in connectivity & FOR beginners, Maono PD300x is the microphone for you.

update maono reached out to me to help me figure out why I felt like I needed a pre-amp booster the customer service was superior they ran me through a lot of steps to get the sound quality to work. if you’re looking for a USB microphone this one will probably be your go to microphone and for the XLR I would recommend the PD 100 X which I have 3 and they sound wonderful. also their headphones are budget friendly as well. if you’re having any problems with games on this PD 300 X contact maono and they will take you through step-by-step to get your microphone working right

Here we go..... Zunächst möchte ich anmerken das ich von der Fertigungsqualität des PD300X absolut begeistert bin, der Mikrofonkörper, sowie das Mikrofongitter (unter dem Popschutz), sind komplett aus Metall gefertigt. Dazu gesellt sich die ebenfalls aus Metall gefertigte Mikrofonspinne, die sieht nicht nur solide aus, sie ist es auch. Nichts klappert oder rasselt an diesem Mikrofon, was inklusive der Spinne stolze 524 Gramm auf die Waage bringt, ein echter Panzer, klasse gemacht, so etwas gefällt mir. Der Popschutz fühlt sich absolut hochwertig an, fast wie Frottee, dieser verrichtet seinen Dienst auch sehr gut und hält viele Plosivlaute aus der Aufnahme fern. Das PD300X ist ein dynamisches Mikrofon, welches trotz seiner Bauweise die Stimme nicht leise, sondern gut hörbar in die Aufnahme überträgt. Im Lieferumfang befindet sich ein USB-C auf USB-C Kabel, mit einem Adapter für den Anschluss an einem Standard USB-A Anschluss. Leider ist dieses Kabel sehr kurz, falls man vor hat, dass PD300X an einem Mikrofonarm zu betreiben, schaut man schnell in die Röhre. Die Kabellänge reicht gerade so aus um den Fuß meines Rode PSA1+ Arm zu erreichen. Sehr schade, denn beim geistigen Vorgänger, dem PD200X, war ein deutlich längeres Kabel mit dabei. Wer sich das ausgedacht hat, der hatte nur ein Tischstativ im Sinn, hier wünsche ich mir ein deutlich längeres Kabel im Lieferumfang, mindestens 1,8 Meter sollten es schon sein. Da das PD300X kein Billigheimer ist, sollte der Hersteller hier schnell handeln. Ebenso ist der mitgelieferte Gewinde Adapter von minderer Qualität, es befindet sich ein Grad auf dem Gewinde und der Adapter hat sehr viele scharfe Kanten, das ist nicht so gut. Ich finde so etwas sehr schade, da das ansonsten sehr gute Mikrofon durch solche Kleinigkeiten abgewertet wird. Ich werde diese negativen Punkte hier allerdings nicht zu 100 Prozent mit bewerten, Maono sollte diese Rezension dazu nutzen um umzudenken. Diese eher unwichtig wirkenden Dinge müssen nicht sein, dass kenne ich von Maono auch nicht, vielleicht hat sich das auch einfach nur in die Anfangsproduktion eingeschlichen, ohne das es bis jetzt jemand bemerkt hat. Weiter im Text: Auf dem Mikrofon befindet sich ein gut zu bedienender Multifunktionsknopf, dieser hat einen sehr guten Druck- und Drehpunkt, er wirkt dadurch sehr hochwertig, prima. So ein massiver Knopf hat leider auch Auswirkungen auf das Mikrofon, die Klick- und Drehgeräusche sind während einer Session im Mikrofon hörbar, man sollte also vor Beginn einer Aufzeichnung, oder eines Livestreams, mit seinen Einstellungen fertig sein, oder alternativ die sehr gut funktionierende Maono Link App bemühen. In dieser übersichtlichen App lassen sich sehr viele Dinge justieren und einstellen, das tolle daran: Die Maono Link App steht völlig kostenfrei auf der Maono Webseite zum Download bereit. Die App ist intuitiv zu bedienen und bietet fertige EQs, ein Noise Gate, einen Limiter, sowie vieles mehr. In der App kann man sich so richtig schön austoben und seinem Ton den letzten Feinschliff geben. Ich bin begeistert und positiv überrascht, wie sich die App in den letzten Monaten entwickelt hat, das müssen andere Hersteller erst einmal schaffen. Der Mute Knopf, der sich direkt in der Nähe des Multifunktionsknopfes befindet, ist ebenfalls ein mechanisch zu betätigender Knopf, ich selbst hätte mit für dieses Mikrofon einen kapazitiven Knopf gewünscht, aber das ist wieder einmal jammern auf hohem Niveau. Mit dem Mute Knopf kann man sich nicht nur muten, sondern kann bei längerem Tastendruck auch ganz bequem ein z.B. Noise Gate einschalten, diese Idee ist richtig gut, so etwas hat glaube ich kein anderer Hersteller. Jetzt kommen wir aber mal so langsam zum Klang dieses Mikrofons, denn dafür kauft man sich ja ein Mic. Ich muss hier direkt hervorheben, dass im PD300X Mikrofon eine sehr gute Membran verbaut wurde. Egal in welchem Modus man auch unterwegs sein sollte, ob USB oder XLR, die Membran erzeugt einen absolut klaren Klang, nichts knistert, nichts übersteuert, nichts knarzt. Mir fehlen die Worte, eine Qualität dieser Güte hätte ich nicht erwartet. Ich liebe und kenne die Produkte von Maono, aber das hier ist noch einmal eine deutliche Verbesserung zum PD200X. Da sich die Schwesternmodelle äußerlich sehr ähneln, außer der Spinne, Popschutz Farbe und dem LED Ring, hätte ich eine fast identische Tonqualität erwartet. Das mein PD300X eine so eklatante Verbesserung des Tons mitbringt, hätte ich wirklich nicht erwartet. Hier noch eine Info über den Betrieb im XLR Modus, da es sich um ein dynamisches Mikrofon handelt, benötigt dieses Mikro auch keine Phantomspannung, das Audio Interface sollte gute Preamps mitbringen, die im Minimum 50 DB Verstärkung ermöglichen, mein Tipp: schaut euch die Audio Interfaces der selben Marke an. Selbst wenn du das PD300X in der Minimaleinstellung mit 48 KBit betreibst (im USB oder XLR Modus), ist der Ton deutlich klarer und gehaltvoller als beim direkten Vorgänger. Das PD200X ist bereits ein tolles Mikrofon und bringt eine prima Membran mit, dass PD300X spielt hier aber in einer anderen Liga, so ist das mit den großen Geschwistern. ;-) Fazit: Als Content Creator und Live Streamer, möchte ich meinen Zuschauern eine tolle Tonqualität bieten, das kann ich bewerkstelligen, seitdem ich die Produkte von Maono nutze, das PD300X setzt jetzt noch einen oben drauf. Ich kann nur eine Kaufempfehlung für dieses Mikrofon aussprechen, toll, ich bin total begeistert. Wenn es hier eine Punkteskala bis 100 geben würde, dann hätte dieses Produkt heute 94 von 100 Punkte erhalten. Gäbe es meine angesprochenen beiden Kritikpunkte nicht, wäre ich mir auch nicht zu schade 100 von 100 Punkte zu verteilen. In der Kategorie Mikrofone bis 150,00 Euro, ist das PD300X bei mir auf dem ersten Platz, hier zählt natürlich auch die Preis Leistung. Das PD300X kann sich übrigens auch gegen deutlich teurere Produkte behaupten und kann mit diesen locker mithalten. Teilweise wird sogar die Qualität der altbekannten Platzhirsche überboten. Maono hat in den letzten Jahren bewiesen, dass man sehr gute Qualität zu erschwinglichen Preisen anbieten kann. Maono entwickelt sich meiner Meinung nach, langsam und beständig zu einem Benchmark in der Audio Szene. Vielen Dank für eure Aufmerksamkeit.

I was impressed before I opened the box. There was a quality control QR code at the top that correctly identified the product, reassuring me that this was exactly what I had purchased. The microphone was packed very well, giving it a high-quality feel. The box of accessories included a USB-C cable with a C-to-A adapter, which was handy. So too was the ring adaptor to fit the mic to different thread sizes on a stand. There is a useful, comprehensive manual, too. The mic itself is solidly built, and the shock mount is metal, providing good stability. I made a few test recordings that were of excellent quality, with no background noise. The software offers several useful controls. Overall, for the price, this is a first-rate piece of kit. Oh, and it looks professional too, so I'll be even more impressive on my calls and recordings...!
