Great price for ok drive
I purchased 4 of the 32gb drives to have around as the price was very good.made of plastic but seem sturdy, you slide the cover that protects the connector when you want to use it and it locks into place while open and closed. Overall it seems well made for the price and on one end is a way to thread it onto key chain or lanyard.for the benchmarks i tested 2 out of the 4 and these were the first thing i did on the drives and they were plugged into usb3 via an amazon basics usb3 extension cable, this did not seem to have any effect on the drives and i even did a test while pluged direct into the usb3 on the back of my pc.so the benchmarks in the pictures are done in order of left to right, the 3rd test of one drive was done direct via the usb without the extension cable (this is marked in the pictures) and the 3rd one of the second drive tested was tested after 8gb of random files added.all times i got above 100mb read speed which is whats advertised and it averaged 28mb write speed.these are not blasing fast but for the price and as a handy usb drive they are perfect, if you want something to read and write a lot of data to regulaly then a ssd via usb would be a better option and this drive does a job at a very good price.

GREAT!! Cheap Storage for People Who Do Not Care About Speed!
If like me you are not bothered about the speed of file transfer (I only have a old PC that used USB 2.0) and all you are looking for is a good quality USB Memory Stick that can hold a little under 32gb worth of files then this is good cost effective storage. I have used Kingston USB sticks for many many years and I have never had a problem with any of them (Trying not to tempt fate) and if you look after your Memory stick then it will give you good service for many years.Always remember to "Eject" your memory stick after you have used it because if you do not then it could lead to files becoming corrupted. I like to use a free bit of software that you can download that will help do this and you can assign a "hotkey" so all you need to do is press a keyboard key and it will "Eject" the USB drive making it safe to remove from your PC. Just google "USB Disk Ejector" If you follow the basic steps then the USB memory stick should last for many many years.I hope you found this review helpful :)

Speeds are pretty good
My 32gb version of this flash drive just arrived in the post.I was a little nervous of ordering it after reading about poor write speeds from other reviewers, so I thought I'd give my experience with the drive. It comes pre-formatted to FAT32.The write speed I achieved on my desktop PC isWrite 70MB/sRead 150MB/sThis isn't the fastest USB 3 flash drive I own, I also have the Sandisk extreme which can achieve 120MB/s write and 190MB/s read, however that was also substantially more expensive than this drive, currently selling for £8.41.I'm impressed enough that I'm now immediately going to buy another one for other purposes. The speeds on my drive are clearly pretty good.Just for interests sake, while I type this review I shall now install the flash drive into my laptop, a relatively modest system powered by an i3 chip.Interestingly the speeds were lower on my laptop,Write 39MB/sRead 41MB/sI tried it in the second USB3 port on my laptop and got the same result.OK, while I'm at it I tried the drive in a third PC I have here, another modest system which is a few years old and based around an i5 CPU.Write: 77MB/sRead: 147MB/sBasically the same as my initial workstation PC, give or take.So a pretty impressive stick for the money, and I'm off to order a second one.I just ran another test to paste the info in here.HD Tune Pro: KingstonDataTraveler 3.0 File BenchmarkTransfer rate testFile Size: 500 MBSequential read 147878 KB/sSequential write 66000 KB/sRandom read 2133 IOPSRandom write 239 IOPSRandom read (queue depth = 32) 1471 IOPSRandom write (queue depth = 32) 341 IOPS

Horses for courses...
These are not, IMHO, general-purpose flash drives, they are simply too slow. For my specific purpose (music data files), though, they are perfect. Essentially, read once, write many times. I have a fair number of hi-rez FLAC files which I wanted available to network stream device-independently, so I stuck some of them on this drive and plugged it into my secondary router. Now I have my own 24/7 music file server! No stuttering, even with 24 bit 192 kHz files. Capacity will be an issue, especially if I rip some CDs, so I’ve just ordered two 64GB drives, since these are currently the best value and I have two USB ports available on my router (and 2 more on my other one).At this price, recommended for any write-rarely, read-often application, where external data buffering is available.

Keep coming back for more
I must have bought 20+ of these now and I keep coming back for more. I use them both at home and for business for backing things up, live "CD"'s, rescue disks, portable apps, etc and find them perfect. Most of the time the 32gb size is overkill and I could probably get away with an 8gb version but I think they're best value in this size. I like the retractable connector part though if you grip the flash drive in the wrong place when inserting them into a socket it can retract itself but you soon train yourself to hold it in the right place. I've found them to be nice and robust and at least one has survived a brief dip in water.
