Geomorphia: An Extreme Coloring and Search Challenge

I love Kerby Rosanes artwork but the biggest pet peeve is that most of his books are printed double sided. It is truly a shame because you must limit yourself on what medium you use or you ruin the image on the other side. And don't get me started on those two page spreads - beautiful beyond compare, but you need to break the spine of the book to get them flat enough to properly color across the seam, and even then... well you all know what I am talking about :-) Now THIS book is SINGLE sided - and though there are of course, no two page spreads, it is going to make coloring the images so much more enjoyable because I don't have to limit my media or keep checking to be sure I didn't 'go through' and ruin the image on the other side. And they did not go to a cheaper paper either, this is still the same thick, nice paper that we've come to expect from Kerby Rosanes books. The images are all lovely, though some are duplicated in other books I have, but that is fine with me as it means I can experiment with different color schemes. I strongly call out to the printers (and to Kerby if he has any say here!) of these books to start making them ALL single sided - this can be done even with double page spreads, so there is NO reason to keep making such beautiful images so difficult to color due to the limitations on media or the choice needing to be made to sacrifice one of the images in order to color the other.

I really enjoy the art work in this book. I have only utilized one page so far just to get an estimated time it would take me to finish a page. I didn't actually track my time, but it took a few days to complete. This will be great for me during the fall and winter when I need my adhd brain stimulated from being closed inside, that's if I can leave it alone before then.

Amazing doodle style art pages with two items hidden in each picture. Very challenging to color. I bought one for myself and later bought a second as a gift for a friend

I only colored in Teresa Goodridge's books, but was ready for a small change. Well, this book is a big change for me and I love it. Lots of detail but challenges are calming for me (weird I know). The artwork takes you to another place beyond eccentric. So fascinating. I also purchased Mythamorphia and just wow. I'll finish this one first to familiarize myself with this artist since there are one one-sided pages to color. Then, I'll graduate to the double-sided pages in Mythamorphia. Get this one first if you're new to Kerby Rosanes art. I highly recommend. Can't wait for Fragile World to come out in March.

Is it his best work?.. No, probably not. But I still like it. Kerby's work is very distinct and unlike anything else prior. Would I have been upset had I pre-ordered it sight unseen (who does that anyway???) for list price (~$12)?.. Yep, probably. But I waited and I knew what i was getting for the money (~$6) I was spending. I feel like this is a $5-$6 book. His first books were definitely worth the $10+ they were priced at and his newest book (Worlds within worlds) IMO is worth what it's listed at. I'd probably still want worlds within worlds if it was twice as much. If this one isn't "good enough" for you check out the newer one. I think it's my favorite so far. I get it the first books and the newest release are amazing pre-colored. This one just seems to fall short. However, this book becomes AMAZING once colored. Check out the finished work from this book in videos online and you will see what I mean. I love this little book. Perfect for using wet media because it's not double sided. I'm assuming that was what he had in mind and I would suggest this book for someone that likes to "paint" in there coloring books or use markers. Still make sure you test before using any sort of wet media and always put a piece of paper behind the picture your coloring. If you have never tried inktense pencils with a tombow colorless blender, I highly recommend, you don't know what your missing. If you own inktense or some other water soluble pencils, this maybe what you're looking for. I can't wait to try all my water/ink pencils in this book. Finally something without pictures on both side. Regular colored pencils in everything gets old. Thanks Kerby, I'm still a fan, not mad at all.

I personally think you guys are being too harsh I don't think the price was that steep for 19 pages and I personally don't mind the one sided pages that way if you wanted to frame it you could and you don't have to ruin another. The illustrations are beautiful and I think they're very creative they're just as creative as his Mythamorphia edition. But that's just my opinion I like this book but I still have to say Mythamorthphia is still my favorite. I see it as a nice extension for my collection. Thank you.

This book is so awesome. Great pictures to color

I would happily purchase multiple copies of anything Kerby Rosanes makes. The doodles make me happy and give me old school Lisa Frank vibes allowing the adult to color in vibrant without thinking "well it's not that way in nature!". *chefs kiss*

Muy buen libro para colorear, las ilustraciones son muy muy detalladas y muy interesantes también. Me gusto mucho, eso si, una sola ilustración puede llevarte muuuucho tiempo, pero supongo que ese es el punto.

J'aime beaucoup cet album à colorier. Les dessins sont sur une seule page et recto bien sûr. J'aime beaucoup Kerby ROSANES, un illustrateur talentueux. J'avais acheté IMAGIMORPHIA et MYTHOMORPHIA, deux albums superbes mais les dessins sont souvent sur double page (donc il faut beaucoup de patience pour faire les dessins, car très détaillés). Il y a beaucoup de détails dans les dessins, les feutres à colorier traversent le papier pourtant les feuilles sont épaisses. J'avais également acheté l'album FANTOMORPHIA que je n'ai vraiment pas aimé. Mais je recommande GEOMORPHIA pour ceux et celles qui aiment les détails dans les coloriages.

Gostei que os desenhos são de um lado só da página da pra Aquarelar e usar diversos materiais, as folhas são com uma ótima gramatura e isso desenhos são incríveis

Dopo il passo falso fatto con fantomorphia, Kerby Rosanes torna alla grande con i disegni onirici che abbiamo imparato ad amare. Posseggo sia la versione inglese (titolo scritto in azzurro) che questa americana. La carta è di ottima qualità in entrambe le edizioni, leggermente più sottile ma bianco puro quella inglese e spessa e color avorio questa americana. Sono entrambe un sogno per le matite colorate, anche acquarellabili se ci si contiene con l'uso di acqua. Geomorphia completa la collezione della serie morphia ed è sicuramente un titolo da avere per tutti gli amanti del genere.
