Super Delta Betta - Live Aquarium Tropical Fish

I ordered this fish, expecting the worse, but I really wanted another Betta. There are no stores near me that sell them. I was willing to take the risk for $21. I ordered on March 14, he was shipped March 15, and I received him in West Virginia ALL THE WAY from California on the 17th. He arrived in a box clearly marked “live fish”. I honestly expected him to be dead or at the very least, nearly dead and lethargic. He was not! He was very much alive and he was so angry to see me! Haha! I had already set up a quarantine tank and after letting him acclimate, I released him into the tank. He’s very healthy looking and very active. He’s swimming around, checking out every nook and cranny in his new temporary tank. He’s just gorgeous!! I definitely recommend this seller and will likely buy from again! Couldn’t be happier! Edit to add: it’s January 1st, 2023 and Red is still doing fantastic! He’s such a curious and happy fish!

So, I've never purchased a betta fish online before, but I am trying to limit unnecessary shopping trips right now because of COVID, and the overall reviews for this seller were very good so I figured I'd give this a chance. My new betta fish arrived today (ahead of estimated arrival by a few days) and I was pleasantly surprised by how healthy and vibrant he looked on arrival. Lots of energy and lots of shine. He's already investigating his new tank and seems very happy. I wasn't sure how you'd even begin shipping a live fish. The aquarium bag he was held in was tightly tied off with a thick rubber band, then wrapped inside two tightly sealed bubble wrap envelopes, and and then further cushioned by sheets of styofoam, all inside a sturdy cardboard box. No leaks! There was information on the box noting that a live animal was inside, which my mailman let me know about when he put the package on my porch. Overall I'm very happy with the fish I received, and if I ever need to buy another betta fish during a pandemic I'll probably order from them again.

Before writing this review I had wanted to give a few days (it's been 3 now) to be sure the fish was going to live. Now after 3 days I feel compelled to write the review. First, was surprised to see it alive and well after being shipped in a box to my doorstep. This was the first time buying a fish online. I was sure the stress was going to cause it to be ill and die by the time he got to me. That said, I understand this isn't going to always be the case but wouldn't be necessarily the fault of the seller. After realizing fish are transferred in boxes all the time to ship to retailers the thought of my betta immediately dying had dissipated. But that's not to say it won't happen for everyone. Not all fish are the same and some will indeed stress from the shipping process more than others. I do hope he continues to be ok. I had lost my first betta to an infection after having him for a long while. I really didn't like the ones at PetSmart as they always looked on the brink of death. So buying online peaked my interest. It worked out in the end. Keep in mind, the bettas will vary in color. I had no idea what he was going to look like as he certainly does not look like the picture listed here. If you are understanding that not 100% of fish will live during this process go ahead and buy online if it is the most convenient option for you. Had he not lived, this review would've been based on the customer service of the seller and if I was either refunded or offered another betta. But since he came in early, alive, and looking healthy, of course 5 stars seems fair. I'm not going to mark down the rating if he wasn't a color variation I would have preferred. He's so very shy still and very tiny in comparison to the one I had.

I see a lot of people complaining about getting ugly fish and I wish you guys would realize that these fish grow and thrive into beautiful fish. If given the proper tank, you guys are expecting them to show up perfectly beautiful when they’ve just been through so much getting to your house please spend at least two weeks caring for the fish and watching them transform before leaving a negative review and whining like little kids about ugly fish. Mine looks beat up and they always have upon delivery and within two weeks. It’s like a completely different creature because they are in a safe and healthy environment.

They came looking very pale and no energy but after arriving/acclimating to tank for 24H they became more lively. No signs of sickness that I’m aware of, though the red/blue one has had trouble swimming down in the tank and instantly floats back up. I am monitoring this to see if it’s a health issue or not. I love the colors I received I know it’s different for everyone, though I received some good ones. Good quality fish. I am happy with the size as well, some company’s tend to send the smallest of the batch but this company did not which is great.

He's alive n well!! Have had our guy for over a month and we love him. He's a beautiful midnight blue color. Very active as soon as I opened the box up. No problems at all!! Also was in the low 40 when I received him!! Love love love!! Thank you!!
