Beams MB300 80 Lumen Wireless Battery Powered Motion Sensing LED Mini Spotlight, 1-Pack, White

Bought this for my mom’s backyard patio area where there was no light. Loved the fact that it was wireless. And the fact that it’s motion activated. Takes 3C batteries, so we’ll see how long they last. Very pleased with ease to put up as well as how well it works with motion and how bright it is. In fact, buying another for my sister who rents a tiny house in the country and is very dark at night and they lose electricity frequently. I know she’ll love it!

I’ve had it one year now and it’s perfect. Haven’t had to change the battery yet. Installed super easy. Perfect brightness level for my situation — installed on side of house above trash/recycling/compost bins. Turns on when I approach it, when dark outside. Isn’t overly sensitive at long distance. Has made taking out the trash at night so much easier a very low cost.

Easy to install although the battery compartment is a bit difficult to open. Light is bright white. The motion detection is very sensitive. Typically, not a problem but if you have a tree near and it is windy, the light comes on an off a lot. Obviously, the batteries die quickly.

I am retired and live in a condo project of attached duplexes. In 2015, I installed a FULCRUM 20031 battery powered motion light under the overhang of the front porch which operates on 4 x C Cell batteries to illuminate the porch and has worked very well having a battery life of 12-15 months. The FULCRUM is a little big for some under-eave locations. I felt a need to illuminate the walkway to the porch and first purchased a small BIGLIGHT 6-LED and installed it under the eaves along the walkway. The BIGLIGHT operates on 3 x AA batteries and I found that the battery life was less than 2 months. No one likes dragging out a ladder every 6 weeks to change batteries. After further reading, I noted that battery motion lights that operate on AA batteries seems to garner many complaints over their short battery life.During my reading, I had dumped this Mr. Beams MB310 light into my Cart but ignored it because of the low price or $9 believing that it was likely inferior (junk). I went back and read the reviews for this MB310 and found that despite the low price, it fostered very favorable reviews, particularly for battery life probably because it used 3 x C cells and not AA batteries. I ordered one and installed it under the eaves to replace the BIGLIGHT.REVIEW: The MB310 is GREAT for tight or hidden locations being only 3-1/4” High x 3-1/4” Deep x 3-3/4” Wide with the bracket. Virtually the entire body canister is for containing the batteries. The unit has a twist off front lens/cover with the battery compartment integrated into a single piece making battery changes easy. The Directions are simple and straightforward. READ THE DIRECTIONS before attempting to remove the mounting bracket for installation and removing the battery retainer cap as it is a bit tricky to avoid damaging the unit. The screws that come with the unit are for mounting to drywall or stucco. For wood, I used any small 1/2” – 5/8” round headed screws. The 80 Lumens is quite adequate. It is a very nicely designed unit made of plastic which deserves careful handling during surface mounting and removal/installation of the face for battery changes. Now, if I can get a battery life of nine months or more, this light will be a first-rate hit.

I use these motion sensitive lights to light the stairs down to my back yard at night for my dog. They are bright, and I think they are sensitive for nearly 180 degrees to cover a pretty wide area, depending on how you aim the lights. I had no problems all winter with the batteries. I live in southern Indiana, so winters here are not bitterly cold most of the time. It can sometimes get to upper 20’s at night, but no problems with the batteries not working. You will know the batteries are low when the light repeatedly comes on by itself briefly then back off!

I have 4 solar BEAMS motion lights but wanted something in addition that didn't depend on sunlight. This does the job. Very bright. Sensor picks up the slightest motion. It takes 3, C batteries, not D, sold separately. Be prepared: the battery compartment needs a tool to open, not your thumb as said in instructions! I used a spoon because it was handy. Comes with mounting screws but I used alien tape to adhere to metal siding.

I have purchased several of these and they are great for both using inside and outside. The light is very bright and is easy to also use inside.

I purchased three of the Beams MB300 80 Lumen Wireless Battery Powered Motion Sensing LED Mini Spotlight. All three exhibited an issue with the motion detection. It will turn on normal after detecting movement and shut off 30 seconds, then a few seconds later, it will turn on again and shut off 30 seconds (by itself with no movement). This will repeat several more times with no movement. There's no switch to shut it off. The first spotlight detect issue happened the first time I put the battery in. The second spotlight detect issue came after a month of use. The third spotlight detect issue occurred after three months of use, but this time the light stayed on continuously. I now have three useless spotlights that doesn't do the job it's supposed to do. By the way, I did place fresh new three C batteries in the spotlights, and they still had the same detection movement issue of turning on and off continuously when there is no movement. I give the motion detection a one star because of the defect issue. I would not purchase this product again unless the company fix this problem.

Good for the dog run or dark area under stairs where there is no convenient power available.

I love motion detection devices . Works perfectly and has a good range for motion detection. Bright enough as well. No wiring required as well.
