Q: Will my wife’s son like these?

I don't know, but my wife's boyfriend loved them!

Q: How long do the cartridges last on average ?? I'm a new user.

I’ve used and tested them for years, counted the amount of shaves, etc. You get 15 “comfortable shaves” meaning it will still shave fairly smoothly and like the first shave. After 15 shaves it’s still very usable but it will be less pleasant, less effective, as you go on, and the edges will start to become frayed. After 35 shaves it starts to fray and dull extremely, but even then technically you could still keep going with it. Depends on how much you’re willing to sacrifice the original comfort. For me that’s 15 shaves but I could probably extend that to 20 or 25 if I wanted to. I shave every other day, get 15 comfortable shaves, and then I replace it. It only takes me 12 blades a year with this system and for the most part I’m getting the original comfort with every shave.

Blade longevity depends on hair type, how often you shave and which areas of the body. On average, one refill can last between 3-4 weeks.
