Q: Help! I have the smartest birds living - blue jays - and they are running me and the cats out of the yard in our short northwest summer.

I used this for smaller birds that were building a nest every year om the tiny vinyl ledge above my entrance door. They came every year for the past three years were very nice to experience the eggs hatch, the babies, then learn to fly and leave the nest. However let me tell you it was like I said above the door we come and go into every day, it was sheltered, I guess that is why they liked that spot! But the mess they made when they built the nest out of mud, sticks I am sure whatever they could find. I placed a few strips of the Bird Blinder Polycarbonate spikes up They looked in wonder for a few days how they could build on this from a light not far away I thought I was going to have to place a few spikes on the light but they gave up finally Birds 0 Spikes WIN! I used heavy duty two sided tape to install (not included) however if it were out in the weather I would have considered clear silicone. You can easily break or cut the sections with a heavy pair of kitchen shears, wire cutter. I hope this helps I know Blue Jays are aggressive and larger than the birds I used it for, Attach it to something sturdy! Good Luck
