Great little pump
Great little pump, works like I thought it would. As other have stated, it only works when it is in sunlight. There is no battery so it could work when the sun goes down. It is perfect for my bird bath. Sometimes I stick it down and sometimes I let it float around on top of the water.

Worked great for 2 weeks before it died
It arrived promptly, was easy to assemble and worked great in our bird bath for 16 days and then it just stopped working. I made sure the intake was clean and that it had never been out of the water (except when I change it, daily) and am very disappointed after such a great start. I couldn't figure out how to reach the company to inquire about their policy in cases such as mine but hope they read and respond to this evaluation. If it still worked, I'd give it a 5-star rating.

Actually better than I expected from seller’s description. (Still working in 2021!)
The media could not be loaded. This is actually better than described. I have a very shallow bowl on my birdbath, so I do not use any “high” water nozzles. I allow only a “bubble over “effect from the highest tube with the open funnel-shaped top. I find that even in partial shade or on cloudy days (we’ve had lots!) the pump still gently bubbles over. Only in total shade does the flow stop. I’ve had this now for more than two weeks and I’ve seen it in every light strength. Don’t know how long it will last, but I am very pleased as it does exactly as I wanted it to do. And yes, the birds like it now that they are used to it. Video below shows fountain gently bubbling in the shade and under cloudy sky.Update 6/28/2020: I removed my old video and posted an updated one. Just wanted to say the solar birdbath fountain has now been in use for alittle more than a year. I was careful to bring it inside Nov-March so that it would not be damaged by freezing water, not that we have that problem much here. The top has discolored so that when dry the fountain’s solar panels seem to have a milky coating. However, this has NOT impaired the operation of the pump. It must be a reaction between the materials, sunlight, and/or minerals or chemicals in the water and appears to be cosmetic only.Update April 2021: I used a Magic Eraser sponge to gently clean the top ( solar panels) and was delighted to see most of the milkiness disappear. Since this goes into a bird bath, be sure to use only the sponges that are not impregnated with any type cleanser. Of course I used the pump in 2019 and 2020, so it’s beginning to show its age a little after sitting in the blazing Southeastern sun for 2 years. But it still works great and I feel like I have gotten my money’s worth out of this little pump.

Solar powered, but no stored power. No sun, it does not work.
I like this gadget. It makes my birdbath more attractive, but...This item, as stated by others, is solar powered, but does not store power. No sun, no spray. Even a partial shadow will turn it off. In fact I would say the ideal situation for use would be 12:00 noon, somewhere on the equator. Here in the Sacramento CA region, the spray works from about 9:30 AM until the trees shadows cover it, about 1:30 PM. That being said, it works, spray shoots up about 18 inches, suction cups on the bottom adhere great to the plastic bowl of my birdbath.

Works great, until it doesn't
I bought this last year to put in my birdbath to attract hummingbirds. I didn't have it in a great location, so it didn't get much sun and only pumped water rarely. At the end of the summer, I cleaned it off and put it back in the original box. I took it out in May and put it in my new birdbath in full sun, and the pump doesn't work at all. It's a clever idea, but not built to last. I noticed that someone else who had the same experience asked a question about it, and someone told them to replace the batteries. There are no batteries to replace, so it's shot.

Overall fine, but a few words of caution
I bought 2 of these for 2 different bird baths. Overall these are working fine, but I'm sharing some issues that might be helpful for others.First of all, one of these came with a clip built in to hold the water pump in place, but the other didn't. I learned that this clip is very handy as the connection from the pump to the fountain is not very secure, and without the clip the top part tended to float right off the pump. I returned this unit and replaced with another that did come with a clip.Second, this barely submerges enough to work well in a standard size bird bath. You really have to fill the water up all the way and refresh it daily, though that's probably best practice anyway. Finally, the caps that go over the fountain to produce a spray work nicely, but I found that it just would spray the water right out of the bird bath, depleting the water quickly. I now only use the fountain without the cap, which produces a nice "burble" effect but no spray. To use the spray caps you would need a fairly large container, both in depth and width.
