Car Seat Buckle Guard

I bought this for my toddler that has SPD, he was unbuckling while I was driving on the free way and I was worried he would get seriously injured if we got in an accident.This works wonders, he can’t get out of it until I unbuckle him and it has made car rides so much safer, and calmer since he has accepted he can’t get out of the car seat while I’m driving.I 100% recommend for other parents of special needs kiddos who have struggles with car seat safety.

For the last two years, this Product has given me a piece of mind every time we drive. It’s totally worth it. It’s not always fun to adjust, but you get used to it. Great quality, sure it will last As long as we need it.

Description EXPLICITLY states “universal fit” but it is NOT. I now have a completely useless buckle lock that I can do nothing with, since it doesn’t fit my son’s car seat buckle. Do not buy this product!

We had a three year old escape artist on our hands. I installed this and the chest straps after he completely escaped and tried to climb into the front seat. Even modified after market parts are safer than that.That was 1.5 years ago and today a much more sensible 4 year old asked if we could take them off last week so he could unbuckle himself when it was time to get out.It got us through the 3s and worked as needed. Although it may have contributed to some additional window opening as a protest.I will admit that this part was so effective that I bought a seat belt cutter just in case we ever had an emergency.

I have an autistic 3 year old that is a Houdini when it comes to his car seat. I desperately searched and found this product. It took a couple days for it to arrive as expected. And during that period I had to zip tie the buckles and he could still get out of his seat within minutes. This PRODUCT TRUELY WORKS! I was so scared to have my son run around the car til I could exit the freeway. This product is a miracle for those who have autistic or Houdini children. It fits easily over the buckle. The release latch can only be used by a parent/caregiver by design. The child physically cannot open it himself.

This seat belt buckle lock is saving my sons life. And mine. He can escape his car seat and it’s terrifying. Without this I would home bound entirely. No groceries, no taking my son to therapy or class. I wouldn’t be able to drive.There was an issue with my car seat manufacturer using a new design for what this lock covers. I called the company, Merritt and they spoke directly to me. Helped me understand the new manufacturing because of covid and supply issues and we figured my older seat that I gave my parents had the buckle design that would fit this so I switched them, for now.I wish I could funnel funding to Merritt to make more buckle locks in all shapes to fit all car seats lol

My child is 4 and has ASD so I purchased this item along with the chest clip. The installation was fairly easy, however the safety isn’t there for my case. I believe if your child isn’t little Houdini it’ll be great, but in my case my child figured it out the first day of installing.
