Not strong enough steel for the intended job.
I bought this to change my anode rod and elements on my AOSmith water heater. I don't know about other water heater specs but AOSmith installs the anode rod with 150 pounds of torque. This tool is nowhere near strong enough for the job. It also has a slightly bigger dimension than required (1-1/8" instead of 1-1/16") and it stripped out immediately. After that I borrowed a 1-1/16" socket and my breaker bar which didn't work either. I ended up having to buy an impact wrench to do the job. This tool may be good for other uses but not to change out the anode rod. I didn't even try it on the elements.

Narrow end too short to trade out home water heater anode rod
Picked this up to replace the anode in my home water heater, the narrow end was simply not long enough to make contact with the existing anode rod. The flare above the narrow end was too close and made too much contact with the flange around the anode rod. It really needs to be a half inch longer at the narrow end. It can't do the one job I bought it for.
