A steep learning curve with amazing rewards
Honestly, this camera is really cool, but the software has a steep learning curve.. I wish it were easier to start recording with gloves on. I use my Apple Watch to add motion data, so I’m not sure the best path to start, whether that’s the button on the camera or taking my gloves off (skiing) and using my watch. Battery life is about 3 hours. The files are huge. Getting the output you want can takes hours. The lens guards could use a better locking mechanism to make sure they don’t fall off. But let me tell you why I’m still giving it 5 stars: the customer service is stunningly good. I wrote a whiny review here, and then got pounced on by a wonderful person called Eddie. He talked me through what wasn’t working for me. He offered to replace things that didn’t seem to work right, and then he followed up! (Multiple times). It made it clear to me that this is my first Insta product, but the company is highly invested in making that a long-term relationship. I’m really excited to see what new stuff comes along, and am enjoying the X4 a lot more than when I started.

Trash product
Hey Siri stick he snapping in half. So much for an action camera. Skating groomer day and my stick is in two pieces at the end of the day. No crashes mellow day only ski two hours. Going to try and return this piece of trash and get my money back

When my ski helmet cam failed (after a few years it is true to say) I looked around for an alternative that could be used for more than just skiing. I am very pleased with the quality of the footage. And the free software is pretty good too. I can thoroughly recommend this camera. Warning: the data use is massive, get th biggest chip you can afford. Also get some spare batteries, they will prove invaluable. When I sent videos to friends, they actually asked me which camera I had and one has decided to buy one. Yes, it's that good.
