Excellent microwave
This Toshiba microwave is exactly what I needed. It's compact enough to fit perfectly on my small kitchen counter, but still powerful enough to heat food quickly and evenly. The six auto menus are super convenient. I use the popcorn and reheat settings all the time and they work flawlessly. The design looks sleek and modern with the black stainless finish and the control panel is easy to read and use. It's also surprisingly quiet compared to other small microwaves I have owned. Whether I am heating leftovers, defrosting meat or making a quick snack it handles everything without a problem for its size performance and price. This is a fantastic little microwave. Highly recommended for apartments dorms or anyone short on counter space. Lili K.

The ML-EM09PA(SS) microwave exciter, provides a decent value
This 900w 2.45GHz transmitter shows 903w of power on my meter, well within spec. The spectral purity (3rd order harmonics) are well within FCC limits. The controls offer a complete selections of operation cycles and but the minimal display only provides timing information, nothing about power output or standing wave ratios. The output of the transmitter is directed at a small Faraday cage, which is well shielded for the expected operating frequency. Do note that if electrically conductive items are placed in the cage during RF excitation some arcing may occur. Organic objects with water content will experience elevated temperature under prolonged operation. Some of the lab techs have used this phenomena to playfully reheat cold coffee and one even using it to explosively expand solid corn kernels. For the price, the ML-EM09PA(SS) microwave exciter, provides a decent value if you have a lab situation where you need a medium RF output at this frequency sent into a small Faraday cage. The choice of 2.45 GHz is interesting since it produces an electromagnetic field constantly flips polar water molecules, creating intense intermolecular friction that produces heat. It would be nice if Toshiba made other other frequencies available so that one could avoid this complication. But if one carefully selects their samples, this model provides a workable solution at a good price.

Seems to be Good Quality
Seems to be good quality so far! Buttons easy to push, handle easy to operate and it's a big improvement over my Walmart brand smaller microwave, which only lasted 14 months. Cooks a little faster than the Walmart microwave that I paid around $50 for. It's nice looking too. It easily fits on my microwave cart as well. I thought the price was great too.

Great Little Microwave
Nice microwave. It is very compact but perfect for the person that just wants to heat a plate of food or cup of coffee. This was purchased as a replacement gift for a senior. She absolutely loves it and found it very easy to learn how to use it.

Excellent Microwave Of All Time! Review Updated!
The microwave is nice and large. It works like a champ for all things microwavy. There was a surprising claim and a dedicated button on the control panel that says "Frozen Pizza" and the manual even shows to place the frozen pizza directly on the glass turntable, up to 16 inches. Knowing what I do of physics, my doubt meter was clicking. I got a frozen pizza. I placed it as suggested and used the Frozen Pizza option, which displayed the Sensor Cooking feature as well was activated. This is the ONLY feature that fails. The toppings were cooked perfectly. The crust? A floppy flimsy uncooked mess that wanted to roll up like a cheap newspaper. Everything works as suggested except for that ONE thing, the frozen pizza button is a bust. Do not use that button with a real live frozen pizza unless you are intending to make a mess. That is why it earned 3 stars instead of 5. It got my pizza loving hopes up, and it murdered a perfectly innocent pizza in a most terrible manner. Veggies, taters, everything else, popcorn buttons and their bag sizes. all worked flawlessly. Like stated, if it's for the microwave, you're good. RIP frozen pizzas. It was a nice idea, but dough doesn't cook right in the microwave particles. *Upon Edit on 9/29/25* Nearly a year later, a few things dawned on me that told me to come here and re-do my 3 star to a well deserved 5 star review and here is why! First and foremost, the frozen pizza issue. I mistook the concept for an 'unbaked' frozen pizza. This is not the frozen pizza they were talking about. It's about an already cooked frozen pizza from the freezer, saved from a previous meal. The baked dough is defrosted but the toppings get the cook up and is done perfectly. Why this matters? Regular microwaves tend to keep cooking already baked frozen bread, and makes it rock hard. We know how microwaves do this to bread products. Reheat a cold muffin, the moment it cools off to being edible, it hardens into a hockey puck. This microwave will not do that. Second thing I noticed and it took a bit. The turntable sensor technology is truly OUTSTANDING! How so? Put a bowl, plate or cup on the turntable that is not perfectly centered. It turns while cooking or reheating, no matter the setting, when the timer finishes, the turntable keeps going until the food is at its closest to the front door so it's easier to remove. That is truly awesome! As I am in a wheelchair, not having to lean forward an inch more to reach the heated plate/bowl/cup because it is right there in the front and closest to you is a thing of true dedication to service! NICE WORK, TOSHIBA! So from 3 to 5 stars and it's well earned. I love this microwave and if you do not buy it, you are missing out! Worth every penny I spent!

You can disable the beep completely!
I was after a cheap small microwave. This microwave saved me a fair bit of counter space from the previous one that was here. What I didn't expect is that it is my favorite microwave ever. Down sides - it's small (positive for me) it is lower watts so longer cook times, and the display is bright. Up sides - The beep can be disabled and the display toggled. The instruction manual was worth skimming for codes for options, other than that everything was intuitive. Using this microwave is awesome. No beeps at all once disabled. It just shuts off when done. The display can be toggled off by pressing the stop button. And when you press a number key by default it does that many minutes saving a button press. Of course the start button adds 30s making it easy to quickly get to a time. I wanted a cheap space saving one, but to my surprise found my favorite microwave.

Great buy, efficient quiet microwave!
This microwave is wonderfully quiet! And heats very well too! Does a really great efficient job at liquids and reheating plates so far. My old huge Sharp Carousel was SO loud with a beep that I’m sure my neighbors heard, and it didn’t heat nearly as well as this smaller Toshiba that costs about 1/3 the price! It is perfect for my needs. Fits a large plate, and is just enough room without being a hulking beast in the kitchen. I personally LOVE the ability to turn off all beeps (and it’s very easy to turn on and off at will). My old hulking beast of a microwave’s beeps echoed throughout the kitchen and its door was so dang loud, which gives sweat-inducing anxiety when you just put your kid down to nap but desperately need one more cup of coffee, or to finish your breakfast finally at 1 pm. Another plus, besides safety, for the child lock handle… It’s an easy off button that is a soft click, if you wanna quickly pause the reheating but keep things inside for a bit. Of course the cancel button works well for this too, lol, just sometimes you want a big button. You are able to open and close the door rather quietly too, if you take it slow. PRO-TIP: If you hear a slight rattle while the plate rotates, it’s likely that your microwave is not fully on even territory. It can be subtle! Mine was rattling slightly, and I worried it was some loose, tiny piece inside the microwave since I bought mine used but in “Excellent” condition.. It had come brand new and perfect looking in a box that had slightly dented packing styrofoam, so I worried it had taken a fall and something was loose. Not the case! I called customer service easily, and they were super helpful. I pressed down on each corner and realized although it looked like it was fully touching the top of the fridge, it wasn’t — hence the rattle! I slid a small towel underneath one corner, and voila, rattle gone! Great purchase!

Perfect for office
Good unit. Smallest footprint I could find. Fits in a 12-1/2" deep cabinet and stands 9-1/4" tall. Perfect for my office need. I like the option to deactivate the child lock and to activate mute mode. For small task like heating up lunch this works perfect. Not a unit for primary food heating in home kitchen.
