Great machine
Great machine! Especially like the crank wheel adjustable table. There isn't a lot of oscillating action, but helps the sanding belt last much longer. Lots to do to assembling it and it's heavy! So far the adjustment for keeping the belt centered works well. Quiet and dust collection by our dust collector works well.

Essential tool for a full shop
An edge sander is essential for my business. When my 20 year old Powermatic sander quit working I replaced it with this Jet. I'm pleased with its features, especially the rigid housing, which is an improvement over the Powermatic. It does make belt changing a little slower, though. Overall a good tool.

Functions very well.
This machine functions very well. It came with a 120 grit belt, which removes wood aggressively and leave a nice finish. It's also quieter than I expected Set up took two hours, doing it solo. The base is easily assembled by one man, but the top is pretty heavy. The cast iron table can be removed easily, which would have made things much easier, but I didn't recognize that this was possible until AFTER I got it into place. I've down graded this item one star due to the condition this it arrived in, and an electrical issue. The whole thing comes in one box - about 200 lbs worth. My box was upside down in the truck - I can only guess how many rotations it when through. Box was pretty beat up. It's a testament to the Jet packing engineers that so little was damaged - the belt guard was bent and an electrical box was cracked. I straightened the guard and taped cracked box. The electrical issue is based on a circuit breaker tripping. This machine comes set up for 115V use, and is rated at 18 - 19 amps. One out of five startups tripped the 20 amp breaker. I converted it to 220V operation and it works fine. As some others have mentioned, adjusting the belt drive to be at some precise predetermined angle to the table is a bit of a nuisance. Not a problem for 90 degrees, if you use a square, but there is no "stop" that can be set for repeat set ups. The "wobble" design that this machine uses to oscilate the belt up and down looks kinda weird but it works fine. Just in case you don't know, this this machine requires adequate dust collection.

Excellent fit and finish
Well packed with lots of styrofoam. Some of the parts packages had split open but everything was present except the two sheet metal screws to fix the shelf in place. I thought some small parts were missing but it turned out they were already attached to components rather than being in a parts bag. The base was easy to assemble. The top is heavy and needs at least two people or, as I did, use of an engine lift. The belts are easy to fit and the tracking adjustment works well. I have it attached to a 3 hp cyclone dust collector and this seems to collect most of the dust; I am not sure anything less would capture enough dust - a problem with all edge sanders. In use it leaves a good finish with a 120 grit belt.

Best purchase ever
I’ve owned one like this for years and sold it when we moved. I built my new shop and purchased this. It’s improved this one and am excited to use it. I love this sander. One of the best pieces of equipment I’ve ever had.

Fast shipping right to your door.
It's a work horse, I work with metal and wood, but you should switch from 110v to 220 volt right away as you will throw breakers wired for 110v

Keep shopping
It worked fine until... I run a small cabinet shop. We use this tool almost every day. I'm in my 3rd year of ownership and the idle drum assembly has broken. That's totally understandable that something would go wrong with a tool, I'd like to give Jet a chance to make it right tho. I won't spend almost 50% of what I bought the tool for on a part that shouldn't have broken. I it's not crazy to think I could get 10+ years out of this. Uh, customer service was bonkers. I confided in Laurie (at customer service) that she was the 6th person I'd talked to. She took down my number and said she'd see what she can do. Thanks Laurie, and I hope you can help. I'm gonna bump this down to 2 stars until I hear back tho. Customer support is SO important. I'd be fired on the spot for acting like the JET warranty guy did. I feel like I've wasted my time and money. I told my boss this was a good tool. Insert embarrassed emoji here. UPDATE: Thx Laurie for your time. Jet said they will not extend the warranty or discount the parts. So, I paid $1000, 3 years ago for a piece of junk taking up space on my floor now. Get it the hell out of here. As promised, I said I'll stop buying Jet tools and talk anyone I know out of buying one. Moving on...
