Looks, feels, and performs like my higher coat servos. I wanted something with enough strength to move the weight of the actual crawler for when things go "sideways"! This servo does that without breaking a sweat. It doesnt even make noise while pushing the crawler back to all four wheels. Its pretty fast for its stated torque, usually when purchasing a higher torque servo you loose something in the way of speed, but this servo breaks that normality giving it a good value for your money. I have gotten it wet before I opened it up and coated the PCB and also the motor and potentiometer leads with MG Chemicals Conformal Coating *which makes your electronics like recievers and servos COMPLETELY waterproof. After coating in Silicon Conformal I drove the truck UNDER WATER , yes you read correctly, under water in a running stream about 13 feet across and max 2.5 to 3 feet deep. The crawler came up the opposite bank fine and kept on going. I checked the servo anyway to see what if any water may have gotten inside but it was dry. The reciever was soaked through but dont care as the Conformal Coating does its job perfectly. The servo hasn't had any issues with centering for me using the stock Redcat radio or with the upgraded Flysky FS-G7P radio. The wire length is pretty long so I had no issues being able to zip tie it where I wanted it out of the way of things. So far its been durable and has power to spare. I am using it with 7.4V.

I've used this on 2 different SOA conversions and both have been flawless. Must stronger than the factory servo on a Redcat Ascent and TRX4. I nicked the wire on one of them (my fault) and had to repair but the unit comes with a very long servo wire so it was easy to cut it back past the damaged section and resolder to the control board in the servo. Very easy to work on and now that I've routed the wire away from my suspension the unit has been rock solid since. If you need an affordable but powerful 1/10 scale servo this is the one.

Servo looked great, felt good, sounded clean and strong.. was very strong after doing the proper install and testing it on my work bench. I was very happy with it until I crawled on my crawler course for I kid you not 30 SECONDS! On the VERY first obstacle I had to turn on the gears in the servo immediately stripped out.. JUNK. I used this servo on my TRX4 high trail with lots of brass parts.. it’s a decent heavy truck but STILL there is ZERO reason all the gears should have stripped out internally in the servo that quickly. It didn’t even load the servo up or anything.. it wasn’t like it was struggling to turn.. it turned no issue and then suddenly I went to turn back the other direction and it just made a whining noise. The servo only steers the tires now if I hold the front tires in the air with the truck off the ground .. ANY resistance what so ever just makes it not steer at all along with a whining noise like the motor is spinning and gears are stripped. Super upset cuz I needed it for an event this weekend and it ruined my fun. Shoulda went with the $40.00 all aloy cased servo by that other company instead of this half plastic half metal servo with supposed “metal gears” which must be made out of monkey metal. PS. I use an aftermarket traxxas metal servo horn so I know the horn is not stripped.. it’s def the internal gears of the servo. HUGE bummer.

This isn't another garbage Amazon servo! I gotta say, as dude who runs Reef's raw 500s in my rigs, I was extremely impressed by how well this servo performs. My redcat gen 8 scout ii (pictured) weighs about 15lbs, I'm getting some fantastic response time on the rocks and even when I'm stuck in those tricky crevices, this servo is turning hard enough to move my rig and help get it out. Highly recommended for a budget upgrade or as an emergency backup servo for when you break current one on the rocks. RequiemRC
