Big Bob Gibson Original White Sauce, 16 oz.

A savory alternative to sweeter tomato-based BBQ sauces
I like how this sauce allows the gentler flavor of chicken to shine through. Big Bob Gibson's white sauce is tart, a bit salty, rich, and spicy, and I can also imagine using it for a bold salad dressing. But on slow-smoked white meats it really shows off best.

A very good Alabama White BBQ sauce — highly recommended!
If you check the one or two star reviews, you mostly find people saying that they don't like Alabama white sauce on their bbq. That's fine, but in my opinion, that shouldn't be a reason to give a GOOD SAUCE of sort your don't like a bad review. The question isn't "Do you like Alabama white sauce?" but "Is this a GOOD Alabama white sauce?" and the answer is "Yes, it is a good Alabama white sauce, and that is a a good thing because it is the one you can get outside of northern Alabama."Personally, Alabama white sauce is my favorite for bbq (followed by South Carolina mustard sauce). I'd urge everyone to give it a try at least once, for example, on a rack of babyback ribs. Mmm-mmmm.It may not be for you, but if it is, and you don't happen to live in northern Alabama, Big Bob Gibson's white sauce is the way to go! I'm down to two bottles ... time to think about ordering another 12-pack soon. Happy BBQing!

OK, so I tried it and...
Well, it is NOT BBQ sauce as you would expect it to be.BUT then again, if you are planning to order this stuff you already know that, huh??Like most of you, I saw this on the Food Network's "Unwrapped" and thought I would give it a try.I tried this on chicken, fish, and vegetables(potatoes, zucchini, onions, corn, and carrots) and it was...well OK I guess but, not anywhere close to better than I can get with some butter, do with fresh herbs and a little aluminum foil. The taste of this product on beef and other red meat?Well....humm...maybe you can tell me because the flavor combination, to me, does not fit with red meat.I do not want to give this a negative review BUT I have to say I was a bit disappointed.Chicken on the grill? Tasty I guess. I am guessing it is an acquired tasty of the region where where white BBQ sauce was invented.OK, so picture grilled chicken, coated with mayonnaise, garlic, onion powder, and salt.Beef, pork, or lamb on the grill with this stuff ?I guess will never know as it does not seem like a very good taste profile, BUT the again I might be wrong. You tell me,This is definitely an acquired taste that I am sure is popular in the very small region where it became popular BUT there is a reason it is not not known nationally.BBQ sauce should transcend ALL proteins, not just chicken.Semper FiGunny S,USMC Retired

Great sauce if enjoyed and utilized properly
The sauce came the other day and arrived opened and spilled quite a bit, but I decided to suck it up and try it anyway.Anyone who says they don't like this sauce is just using it wrong. However, If you don't like saucing your meat or marinading, this isn't for you. I did the following and my chicken came out tasting great:1. sprinkle some of my favorite spices2. add the sauce, marinade for a few hours3. grill on high heat4. brush with a light coating when finishedIn conclusion: great results that many people enjoyed. The sauce by itself doesn't taste that good alone and is very bitter and vinegary. I personally wouldn't recommend using it as a dipping sauce. If you decide to marinade, the vinegar in the sauce makes your meat more tender (but don't over marinade). It's a bit different that your traditional sweet savory BBQ taste but it adds a whole different flavor profile to your meat that I think a lot would enjoy.

Wasn’t what is was cracked up to be.
It’s the first time I’ve tried Alabama white sauce. Guess I didn’t care much for it.
