PullRite3317 Universal Capture Plate for SuperGlide Hitches

Well I was told by Pullrite themselves that this capture plate requires no welding to install. I bought it and right in the directions says you need to weld to install, but it was only because the dimension of my king pin box were to small to sufficiently carry the torque of turning so I need to weld on the supplied brackets to the pin box.Not really a complaint just thought people should know, that welding may be necessary. The dimensions of my pin box was 12” wide which is plenty sufficient but was only 8” deep which needed to be much longer in order to get enough bolts to be able to mount properly. But don’t worry this does not mean that the capture plate is welded to your camper. It is removable and still towable by a standard fifth wheel hitch.I am proficient in welding so this was not an issue but I did call a welder and got a quote just for the sake of you all knowing. The welder told me that the cost could be anywhere from 80 to 240 bucks. So keep that in mind that you may need to add that to the cost.

First, let me say that Pullrite makes some terrific products, but this isn't one of them. For my application, a 2002 Forest River Wildcat, there is no way to attach the plate to my pinbox without welding it on. Not a problem unless someone else will be towing the camper using a conventional 5th wheel hitch. The 3365 capture plate appears to be a better choice, even though PullRite's customer service suggested the 3317 was the correct plate for my camper.

This product requires drilling, grinding, welding, and basic metal fabrication skills to install properly. The product is of good quality but be prepared to drill, grind, weld, and paint for a quality finished product. It this does not bother you then go for it.

This product worked perfectly. It was easy to install and is working great. Pull Rite customer service was great to deal with on another project I was doing.

Instructions were ok... but could be a bit more detailed I had to do some welding due to a weirdplate in my pin box but it worked out great!

I received a different capture plate then pictured it had smaller tange for turning the hitch so I was unsure if it was the right one for my slider.

Just what we needed for our hitch. We bought a used hitch and didn't have capture plate. Bought this one. Works perfect! We did have to get a couple spots welded to fit our trailer and that was only $20. All in all PERFECT!
