I am a little bit of a snob when it comes to flashlights. Generally speaking I carry Surefire lights. I am in a line of work where my equipment is essential to my being able to go home at the end of the day. This light, however, looked interesting and I decided to try it out. It seems to be well build and pretty intuitive to use. I like the lockout feature. I carry the light as a backup light in my pocket at work and being able to locking out means that I don't really worry about it turning on in my pocket if my gear or something bumps the button. The different light levels are good. I like it has a strobe feature. The display is very helpful, showing the light level and battery level. I would consider buying it again or maybe a similar model.

I was looking for a small EDC flashlight to attach to my backpack. This flashlight has worked great when needed. It's very easy to turn on and cycle through brightness levels. It also feel pretty solid for a flashlight that is so small. My only concern is the non user replaceable battery. For the cost and my needs the pros outweigh the one potential con.

I recently purchased the Nitecore EDC23 (This is my second flashlight from Nitecore) and I am beyond impressed! I use this flash light all the time. As the name states it is my EDC and is always in my pocket. About the same size as a standard pocket knife. The adjustability of the intensity level with the two button system is nice. However, the button has started to not respond right. Originally it is a half click to change intensity and a full click to turn on/off. Now when pressing it does not want to change intensity and will do so on a full click therefore not always turning on the light. I would quickly buy again but at the price I can not afford to buy one when the button only last for a couple months of use. I continue to carry every day but find it frustrating to have to press the button sometimes 10X to get the light to turn on while also shuffling thru intensity settings. The turbo mode still works as designed but often is too bright for low light use and is on a timer by default. The full lockout slider works great and is a nice feature to have. If there was no issue with the button this would be 5 stars and 10/10 recommend.

I so badly wanted this flashlight to work out, the flat design and manual safety were game changers for me and the brightness settings are pretty dialed. The problem is I’m currently on my second unit in just over two months. With both of them it has been the same, at first it takes multiple clicks to change brightness settings and after a week or so it won’t change at all. The first one lasted 6 weeks and this unit is failing at 4 weeks, neither of them were ever dropped or mistreated. The price also went up $15 since I bought the first unit. Overall this light was really well thought out from an operational standpoint, its bright and intuitive to use with a bit of practice but really falls short with durability.

I chose the Nitecore EDC23 as my everyday carry flashlight, and I’m really glad I went with it instead of the EDC29. Its compact size makes it much easier to keep in my pocket, which is a major plus for daily use. The battery life has been solid so far. After a couple of weeks, I still haven’t needed to charge it. It’s convenient and reliable. As others have mentioned, the flashlight does stick out of your pocket a bit, which can make reaching for other items a little tricky. However, it’s not a deal-breaker for me. If it becomes a bother, there are aftermarket clips available that allow the flashlight to sit lower in your pocket. I haven’t felt the need to buy one yet. I did read the one-star "burned my pants" review, and honestly, it just made me want the light more, lol! That said, there have been a couple of occasions where I was sure I locked the light, only to find it unlocked later. I’m not entirely sure how it’s happening, but I suspect I might be accidentally unlocking it when I reach into my pocket for other items. I could see how this might become an issue for some users, so it’s worth keeping in mind. Overall, I’m very happy with the Nitecore EDC23! It’s practical, well-designed, and performs beautifully. If something ever happened to this one, I wouldn’t hesitate to get another. Highly recommend it to anyone looking for a reliable everyday carry flashlight.

I’m not sure what more you could ask for in an EDC flashlight. It’s tiny (smaller than I expected even), super powerful, good features and a long battery life. I suppose you could go with one of the higher lumen models but this is plenty powerful at its diminutive size - bigger wouldn’t be worth it for me.

The size and shape make this a perfect EDC EveryDay Carry. Once you get it set up and get used to the functions, very handy. Having an actual digital display is fantastic. The only thing I would change is to be able to reverse the clip for attaching to a hat bill or what ever.
