Works flawlessly
At max RPM it’s managed to keep the Epyc 7532 at a max of 43c in a 22c ambient room with poor airflow. At about 1000 RPM it maxes at 55c this test was done under full load. Attaching the cooler to the brackets isn’t like the usual consumer grade coolers, make sure you attach the brackets to the cooler first and the screws get screwed in from underneath to keep the bracket in place or at least for the AMD side of things. I tried attaching the brackets to the board and cooler after the fact and well, it was a lesson learned. Impressive cooler for impressive value. I was going to add my P12 Max fans to this but the fans that come with the cooler are more than adequate.

Quiet, cool temperatures
Using it to cool a 64 core Epyc socket SP3. The cooler is quiet and keeps the temperature of the CPU to a reasonable level. Fitting is releatively easy but you have to follow the instructions as everything needs to be positioned correctly depending on the exact setup you have. There is also an order required to tighten everything down to make sure that you get good, strong contact with the CPU, but everything is well shown in the instructions.

Impressive Size and Performance, Undermined by Design Flaws
These heatsinks are massive and perform reasonably well, but oddly they don’t fully cover the CPU’s integrated heat spreader on an SP3 socket processor. I’m convinced they would cool far more effectively if they actually covered fully, just like every other heatsink I’ve installed over my 35 years as a computer engineer.

I installed this on a Threadripper 1950x ( TR4 socket), and it works perfect. Idle CPU temps are site between 27C - 34C. This is even better than the watercooler I replaced. I built my PC back in 2017. It has a Threadripper 1950x. When I built the PC I used one of the Enermax Closed loop all in one water Cooling systems. These systems are not know for their quality. Reviews all over the web calling them trash. When I first installed it I replaced the coolant with better stuff, and as a result is has run reliably for 8 years. Finally I noticed my fans were randomly running at full blast, when I was not doing anything intensive. I checked my CPU temp and it was 76C. Which was high, then I heard some squeling from inside the PC. I determined it was the Water Pump going out. I took it part and cleaned it, used new fluid, but that didn't help, it still continued to have issues, with CPU temps slowly climbing up to 90C, and the PC starting to lag as the CPU attempted to downclock itself to stay cool. So I needed to get a new cooler. Unfortunately most local retailers are not going to stock any coolers compatible for the TR4 socket. I took a leap of faith and bought this from amazon, hoping it would fit. I was a little concerned as some mentioned the fans bumping into the motherboard heatshield, and loosing access to one of the PCIE slots. I am running an Gigabyte X399 Aorus Pro-CR and it fits perfect. I even have RGB LED memory and there is just barely enough clearance for the heatsink to not touch. The fan closest to the PCIE does leave a tight gap, but I moved around my cards to ensure a smaller card is right next to it to ensure its not blocking any airflow. Wish I would have bought this years ago. It cools just a well if not better than the old Enermax AIO water cooler it replaced. Highly recommend. It does a great job Update 2/17/2026 Just wanted to update everyone, This is by far one of the best purchases I have made for my PC. I used to CPU mine crypto, but back when I was cooling with water, it wouldn't stay cool. Just now tried mining again. Running with 16 Cores and 20 threads, CPU temp sits at 59C. This is such a great cooler. Don't waste your money on water cooling, just get one of these. Simple, and effective. Plus when fans go out some day I can replace those.

These are some fantastic coolers! The price might seems a bit high, but it's a right price for what it offers. I moved a Supermicro H11DSi-NT + 2 Epyc 7742 from a 2U rack server into a 4U/5U case and when running 100% these 2 keeps the CPUs around 65C. Yes, they both fit on this motherboard and yes you can still add/remove the RAM modules that are right under the heatsink. Even at full load these are incredibly quiet. The package includes thermal paste and the adapter for Xeon, which is a plus.

I purchased the ARCTIC Freezer 4U-M for my AMD Ryzen Threadripper 64-core processor, which I use in a workstation that runs 24/7 without shutdown. Earlier, I was using a DeepCool LT720 360mm AIO. While the performance was acceptable, CPU temperatures were around 75–80°C under load and about 55°C at idle. I used this setup for over a year before realising that this AIO is not ideally suited for Threadripper processors, mainly due to cold plate coverage and orientation issues. After researching proper cooling solutions for Threadripper, I initially planned to buy the Noctua NH-U14S. However, on my GIGABYTE TRX50 AERO D motherboard, the processor is mounted horizontally, and the Noctua cooler did not fit properly. I then decided to go with the ARCTIC Freezer 4U-M, and it turned out to be the perfect choice. It fits perfectly on the Pro WS TRX50 motherboard, with no clearance or orientation issues at all. After installation, I immediately noticed a temperature drop of around 10–15°C compared to my previous AIO setup. For a 24/7 nonstop workstation, this cooler has been extremely stable, quiet, and reliable. In my opinion, this is one of the best air coolers currently available for AMD Threadripper processors, especially for continuous workloads. Yes, there are AIO solutions designed specifically for Threadripper, but they are either very expensive or not easily available in India. Considering performance, compatibility, reliability, and long-term operation, the ARCTIC Freezer 4U-M is an excellent choice. Highly recommended for anyone running a Threadripper system 24/7.
