I used one of these docks for my work computer. Very handy and compact so I bought one for myself to use at home. Genuine HP product, sturdy and worked no problems.

The item doesn't work at all. And its not a brand new. its a second hand unit. I am so disappointed.

It does take a few seconds post-login to conjure up the extended screen magic, but I can certainly tolerate such trivial delays. It performs its triple display duties with admirable finesse and, to my pleasant surprise, demanded no driver installations. Plug and play at its finest. Cool as a Cucumber Worries about overheating? Fear not! As of now, my trusty HP Gen-5 docking station remains remarkably cool under pressure. While I anticipate upgrading my main monitor to a 4K beauty soon, the two FHD side monitors will continue their duties without a hitch. Stay tuned for updates on this front. The 4-USB ports are used up for the Logitech MX Master mouse, HP 450 Wireless keyboard, an Elgato Webcam (Full HD, 60Hz, Uncompressed video), and an i-don't-know-the-brand-name Monitor lightbar that works just fine. I got a new laptop which was no longer compatible with my docking station so had to purchase a new one quickly. This docking station does the job. It’s easy to connect, reasonably priced and came in 1 day.
