I’m using this to make a gumbo powder, smells earthy, like it says it should be and does the job perfectly. Seller has been no problem that’s why I have ordered from them again.

We're not big fans of okra so I used this instead in my most recent batch of jambalaya. There were no leftovers and every plate was clean. A new staple item for the pantry!

This was my first time going out on a limb and making gumbo from scratch. The recipe I followed called for gumbo file, and I had heard that file is one of the key ingredients to getting that real gumbo flavor. I am happy to say that using it for the first time made a big difference. It added a rich, authentic flavor to my gumbo, and both my family and I were really pleased with how it turned out. I used about a teaspoon, and that amount worked perfectly for my pot.
