The magnet locks pretty securely when you only have 2 - 3 cards in the pockets but the more credit cards, receipts or money you have stored in the pockets the flap will not connect enough to keep it closed but that wasn't a big deal to me because I try not to keep more than my ID and debit card in it if you are not taking a purse with you. All in all a very good case, very happy with your purchase!
