They really do what they claim
I have used these earbuds to translate conversations with Hungarians person to person and over Whatsapp. It's like when you see something on the news from the United Nations, the person speaks in their own language, and after a short delay you hear it in English, and what I say translate to Hungarian for them. You can even watch something on YouTube in a foreign language on your phone and it translates straight to English or whatever language you want. So much more accurate and easier than when I used to rely on google translate.

Timekettle W4 Pro AI Translation Is a Major Disappointment
I set up the device for English–Thai translation. Setup was simple and the earphones started charging as soon as I removed the plastic cover. Unfortunately, that’s where the good news ends. The English speech recognition was awful. The AI misheard me almost every time, often completely. At times the AI seemed to hallucinate and invent sentences that had nothing to do with what I actually said. It felt like a bad joke - it reminded me of those clunky pre-iPod gadgets, or the old Apple Newton with its “handwriting recognition”. When I physically pressed the earphone against my head while speaking, the English transcription improved a bit, but that already tells you how fragile the system is. The Thai translation was just as unreliable. Even at its best, quality maybe reached 60%, and that was with an active high speed fiber internet connection. Offline translation was basically a write-off. Most of the offline packs appear to be geared toward Mandarin Chinese, with other languages poorly supported or simply missing. A lot of the “translations” contained made-up words, as if the AI was guessing instead of translating. The “tutor” function is more of the same: heavily focused on Mandarin, with most other languages either not available or barely usable. My strong impression is that this device may be optimised for Mandarin–English, but it clearly does not transfer to English-Thai in any acceptable way. Given this, I find the marketing highly misleading. The product is unusable in a professional setting, and for casual use you’d be better off buying a much cheaper translator that will perform just as “well” as this one. Another option is the good old plain vanilla ChatGPT with a high translation accuracy. Bottom line: I really wanted the Timekettle W4 Pro AI to work, but I cannot justify spending over £340 on a device with such weak speech recognition and inconsistent translation quality.

Worth it
Really good one 2 one, has charging issue on one headset if not fully pushed into cradle (colleague has same issue).

Works ok but too high a price point.
I’ve been trying out these interpreter earbuds for almost 2 months now my experience has been mixed, for the price of £449. There are some impressive things about them, but also a few areas where I felt they didn’t quite meet expectations. On the positive side, the translation accuracy works reasonably well when both people speak clearly and not too fast. I also like the build quality everything feels well made and looks quite premium. Pairing with my phone was straightforward, and the app interface is fairly straightforward. The simultaneous translation feature is clever but in real world situations with background noise or strong accents, it struggles. I also noticed quite a delay between speech and translation. Another thing to be aware of is that some of the more advanced features require an internet connection, not ideal in some countries which may struggle to get internet signal. Battery life has been okay not amazing, not terrible. For short sessions or occasional use it’s fine, but I wouldn’t rely on it for long conversations without recharging. The earbuds are comfortable enough. Overall, I’d say the earbuds are a promising tool if you need help bridging language gaps and don’t mind the occasional hiccup. They’re not perfect, and they won’t replace a professional translator, but for casual travel or basic communication, they can be genuinely useful. But I really cant say they justify the price at the moment.

Timekettle W4 Pro
These Timekettle W4 Pro headphones are excellent. The translation feature works exceptionally well, especially in situations where I don't understand the language at all. I am very satisfied with their performance.

disaster in translation which supposed to be it's main job
what a complete waste of £341. I had a business meeting in Germany and the client doesn't speak english so I needed something to help me in translation. I didn't care about the cost and went for this pro version expecting it to be pro in translation and it was an absolute disaster. The app is not very user friendly and the who unit is very bulky and looks odd when you are wearing it. You may think that if the translation is not good then I can use it for listening music and at least get something for my money but unfortunately it doesn't fit for a decent music listening. the music quality is of £20 earbuds. This is a complete fail product in all the aspects and costing fortune at the same time.

Amazing Tech that has saved me thousands of euros!!
This kit is superb. Takes some time to get to know how to use it and I recommend practice on friends first before using it properly. For example, taking calls needs some practice on use before talking to clients or suppliers. Once over the very small hump, this thing is amazing - allowing you to talk on phone or in meetings in your own language. Take your time with speach and it works really well. Used it to help me in France doing some technical negotiations and specifications - well beyond my vocabulary - so made sure everyone know what we were doing, saved me time and money.
