Peace of mind for my online security – simple, fast, reliable
I’ve been using the Thetis Pro Key for about a month, and I genuinely feel more secure online. Setup was straightforward—it worked flawlessly with both my Google and Microsoft accounts. It’s compatible with Windows, macOS, and even Linux, which is perfect since I work across different platforms. The build quality is excellent—it’s aluminium, not cheap plastic, and feels sturdy enough to survive daily use. The USB-C and USB-A connectors are a nice touch, especially since I use multiple devices. Its obviously FIDO2 certified, meaning it uses strong, phishing-resistant security. No more worrying about SMS codes or authenticator apps being hacked. I even tested it by trying to log in from an unknown device without the key and it blocked me, just like it should. Tip: Make sure you register it on multiple accounts and keep a backup key stored safely in case you lose it. Overall, this is one of the best purchases I’ve made for digital safety. If you care about online security (especially if you're in business, IT, or finance), this is a must-have.

Lifesaver!
This proved the only way to access our old US-based accounts from the UK as we didn't have US mobile phones for text codes any more. Simple. Easy. Tick.

No this is not a ledger for Crypto currencies - it is a authentication device or a security key
If you are like me you first think that this a ledger for storing your crypto currencies but it is nothing like that at all. This is just an authentication device that you would use to give you an extra layer of security when using two factor authentication. or even multi-factor authentication depending on how many layers of security you really want. For my needs and for the information I hold, two-factor authentication is more than enough. The reason why this Pro-C FIDO2 Security Key Passkey Device is so good for two-factor authentication is because firstly it's a physical hardware device that without it nobody can access your accounts AND secondly because it uses advanced authentication standards like FIDO2 and TOTP/HOTP, making it an excellent choice for securing your digital identity. To be honest I don't really understand how these authentication standards work, and you really don't need to know the workings of them either. You just need to appreciate that this has great features that provide really strong protection. It makes sure that only authorized users can access their accounts, protecting against phishing attacks, account takeovers, and other security threats. It integrates the various authentication methods across various platforms in order to keep your accounts secure across them all. All you really need to understand is that once you have this device installed, it acts like a physical hardware key, giving you an extra layer of security for your digital accounts, ensuring that only you can access your accounts as you are the only one who will have this hardware key that you associate with you accounts when you install it. This key is supposed to make things easier than other hardware keys as it also offers finger print authentication, but that part is not great as it is really hit and miss when letting you in as I don't think it has been implemented properly - well either that or it has a fault with it, and is also the reason why I have given this 4 stars.

Love this
Great physical security device for 2FA authentication. I have only used this for some less important accounts (Google and Facebook). But honestly, I feel like Tom Cruise in Minority Report every time I use this. It works extremely well, and needing to have a physical device to access your account is a game-changer. I plan to use this on LastPass when I eventually get around to using it more. It has wide compatibility across multiple devices and browsers, too. Will update this review as I go. ★★★★★ - Excellent -- My ratings explained: ★★★★★ - Excellent: Outstanding product, exceeds expectations in all aspects. ★★★★½ - Very Good: High quality with minor imperfections, almost perfect. ★★★★☆ - Good: Solid product, generally reliable with room for some improvements. ★★★½☆ - Above Average: Performs well but has a few noticeable flaws. ★★★☆☆ - Average: Adequate, meets basic needs with visible areas for improvement. ★★½☆☆ - Fair: Below expectations, issues that impact user experience. ★★☆☆☆ - Below Average: Major issues, underwhelms in most areas. ★½☆☆☆ - Poor: Significant problems, needs substantial improvement. ★☆☆☆☆ - Very Poor: Fails on almost all counts, highly unsatisfactory.

Nice Presentation, Robust & Well Made Device – Does Not Support All Platforms Yet
Presentation The Thetis Pro-C FIDO2 Security Key Passkey Device is presented in a small branded cardboard box with a retail loop for a wire rack. Inside the box is a small cardboard tray (well done for the ecology consideration) containing the security key device itself and a small fold out user manual that also acts as a quick start instruction manual. First Impressions Taking the security key from the packaging and looking it over, it is a very small profile at 48 x 16 x 10mm and in the form of a flip out from a 360° cover, the cover being branded at the top which also has the illuminated touch button and having a QR code and details plus serial number on the bottom, a loop for a strap is also on the cover. The security key feels quite robust and is solidly built, and the USB C presentation is an obvious sign it was built recently for modern devices – reinforced by the fact it also supports NFC. Day To Day Use Unfortunately, despite the title stating “Thetis Pro-C FIDO2 Security Key Passkey Device with USB C & NFC, TOTP/HOTP Authenticator APP, FIDO 2.0 Two Factor Authentication 2FA MFA, Works with Windows/macOS/Linux/Gmail/Facebook/Dropbox/GitHub” and my being a Linux user on desktop and laptop, I could find no support or means of getting this device to work natively. Indeed there does appear to be some support if the supporting software is run in a ‘Firedrake’ virtual environment but I could not get this to install and work under Linux, and the download section of the Thetis website mentions Chrome, iOS, and Android – only one of which I use Android and that is on occasion. Summing Up This looks and feels like a well made, robust security tool for MFA etc but sadly does not support my environment so I cannot comment on its working as a passkey without such support and perhaps Linux should be removed from the title as it is misleading.

Terrible - More hassle than it's worth
Awful experience. Firstly downloading the manager is a task in it's self kept "couldn't download contains a virus" slightly worrying for something supposed to keep you more secure. Eventually got around this by turning off all Chrome Browser Safe Browsing and Windows Defender. Then there's the hassle of opening it! Again had to disable Windows Defender and open as Admin. Right I thought should be ok... No this is as far as you get the software recognised the key was able to set a PIN and then since I haven't been able to actually register it. Google seems to have removed its security key management within Chrome and also hidden the option to add to your account under 'Passkeys' when wanting to add to your Google account. Unable to register it with Microsoft or Windows 10 Login. NFC doesn't appear to work on Samsung s25 despite downloading app and having NFC on. Really it's terrible - not sure if mine is faulty. I will be returning it as it's clearly not being picked up despite using different ports. Frankly whilst cheaper then other keys I wouldn't bother - this is not worth the money at all as it doesn't work. Smaller than shown/expected which is good.

A great secure solution for authentication! Works great with my Windows PC and iOS
This is a very easy-to-set up device - just download the software to get a pin setup on the key, and you're ready to go! The instructions cover set up on Windows, Mac, iOS and Android - you just need to do it on one machine for it to work everywhere. For now, I'm only using this for MFA/2FA with my TOTP being handled elsewhere as I don't want to keep all my eggs in one basket just yet. So far, I've got this set up with my Microsoft and Google accounts, and it was a very easy to get the key set up. When logging in on a Windows desktop, it's just a case of selecting the "Security Key" (which it should default to after the first use) when logging in, and then plugging in this passkey device. When prompted, press the flashing button on the passkey device and that's it! On an iPhone, iOS will natively bring up a log in box prompting you to either connect the key via USB, or with NFC. If you're using NFC, it will ask for the pin you had originally set up, and that's it. This will work for NFC enabled iPhones (iPhone 7 and newer) and of course most Androids. For iPad's, it's a similar process but as they have no NFC features, you just plug it into their Type-C port instead. To add some extra security on top, NFC only works when the device is opened up, so if it's hanging off your keys, someone cannot just brush up past you to initiate authentication. I've only been using it for a short while, so I have yet to pick up any quirks except one - my iPhone 14 is running on iOS 18.1 beta and just does not work with this key. Either a bug in iOS, or something needs to be fixed on the passkey-side, but they have been made aware. I will update this once iOS 18.1 is stable so that I can re-test.
