Great little device with a cute case!
Loving this so far! I've got the Kindle Kids with the intention of using it myself as I heard it was smaller and I absolutely loved the unicorn case! So far I can only see advantages to it. It's easy to use, the books I have as an adult are also available in my Kindle Kids library. I'm very happy with my purchase so far, I kept all Kids features as I don't see them as a disadvantage since I can access my entire Kindle library anyway! The touch screen is fast and responsive, the download speed is decent, it's small and weighs very little, has a premium feel, which makes me come back to Kindle after having used other e-readers in the past. The best part is that is that you get the best value for money with the Kindle kids as you could at any point lend it or even gifting it to a kid(just get the parental controls on!). The instructions are crystal clear and the whole set up took less than 5 minutes! The clarity of the writing is fantastic from my point of view. The only thing I'd change: I'd add a warmer light for bedtime reading, but that's available on the Kindle Paper white, so maybe it's a bit much to ask on a budge device.

Game Changer for a Dyslexic Child – Absolutely Worth It
We bought the newest generation Kindle Kids for our son, who is dyslexic and had really struggled with reading. Books just weren’t something he was excited about, and it was becoming a bit of a battle to encourage him. When we framed it as a “tablet for reading” instead of just another book, everything changed. He absolutely loves it. The glare-free screen is easy on the eyes, the page turns are quick, and the size is perfect for small hands. The cover is sturdy, and knowing that Amazon will replace it if it breaks gives real peace of mind. But the biggest win? His reading. He’s now read over 20 books on it, and the improvement in his confidence and ability has been incredible. His reading has come on leaps and bounds. He’s more willing to try, less frustrated, and actually proud of finishing books. For any parent with a reluctant or dyslexic reader, this has been a total game changer in our house. Highly recommend.

Beautiful case and easy use
Bought this for my daughter for Christmas. She loves the included case, whose design is beautiful. The kindle itself downloads books easily when in range of the wifi and the size is perfect for putting in her handbag (she's been taking it everywhere!). She's almost 10 and has picked it up easily enough and her younger sister (7) can use it too. We haven't charged the battery yet and she started using it straight out of the box, so battery life seems good. It's lightweight so doesn't weigh down your hands, similar to weight of a smartphone. It comes with Amazon kids included for a period of time, which has meant she can download lots of books without me having to pay for any so far (she reads avidly). All in all a good little e-reader.

Get children to read!
The latest datela on children's reading is that they are reading less than before. As a teacher phonics is a challenge and motivating a child to read a book, not necessarily of their choosing is hard. My son has ADHD and his school reading scheme is archaic. They have to read the Oxford reading tree levels which are old and boring. I had to purchase our own books of his interest level within the Oxford tree just to get him to read. Luckily he is finally a free reader. So as a gift I purchased him the kindle. He is reading every night, by choice before bedtime. The batter with persistent use has last a week from initial charge. He can adjust the size of the font, screen light all by himself and he can download books of interest to him. My only complaint is the limitation of books available under the kindle kids membership. Some well known books are not available and the kindle isn't sorted to have age-related books to his age. His home page (for a 9 year old) has Blippy and Bing Bunny. The kindle does not have the 'How to Train your Dragon' collection which is going to be a major motion picture and has limited new writers. Not all children love Harry Potter. The bonus, I can share my books with his kindle.

Great kindle just not straight forward to link it to kindle unlimited
So the kindle itself is excellent, the usual quality you come to expect from this product. The case and colour way is just lovely. The only thing that was a pain was trying to join this up to my Amazon account and take advantage of the kindle unlimited offer (3 months for 99p) this took ages and wasn’t really clear on the most efficient way to set this up! Other than that I’ve got a very happy child!

my best buy of the year
The Amazon Kindle for Kids is hands down my best buy of the year! My children absolutely love it. They can take it anywhere—car journeys, holidays, even just out in the garden—and read comfortably without carrying heavy books around. The screen is clear and easy on the eyes, and I don’t have to worry about distractions since it’s made just for reading. The battery lasts for days, which is a huge bonus, and the free access to a huge library of books keeps them happily entertained and learning. I ended up buying a second one because they were both so into it—no more fighting over who gets to read next! It’s such a great way to encourage a love of reading. Highly recommended for any parent!

Great device let down by poor user interface
Size and cover are excellent. Functionality when in the book is great. However, the Kindle interface and Kids+ search are dreadful. Performance is much quicker than older models.

Good product
Quality product that came with a case.it was a no brainer for me. It's a good size which makes it easy to hold in hand. Set-up was bit tricky for me as I've bought it for myself to read and not for a kid so to remove kids setup was super annoying.
