Q: How long does the battery last?

Depends on how much you use it. My light only goes on when my dogs go outside or when something triggers it in the backyard. I just charged the batteries. It’s been 6 weeks.

Q: Will the light work with Google Asst? Is anything needed other than the bridge?

I just talked to Netgear sales person at the Netgear retail store in San Jose. The lights do not work with Google Home at this time. No words on when they will.

Q: what kind of battery? and where to buy it?

Q: @ T. Wenner: Can I cut the cable you recommended, run it through a small hole, then splice it on the other side?

This is a wireless device with chargeable battery. If your question is to setup with charge cable within it? Sure it will always can do it, but the question will come back: why choose this wireless device with battery, still want to run with cable?
